We are seeking an experienced and meticulous Senior Associate to join our Record to Report (R2R) global finance team. This unique hybrid role is designed for a candidate who can manage the dual complexities of revenue accounting and operating cost management.
You will be responsible for ensuring the timely and accurate recording of financial transactions across the profit and loss statement. This includes acting as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for revenue recognition (ASC 606 / IFRS 15) while simultaneously ensuring the integrity of operating costs through precise accruals, prepayments, and reconciliations.

Responsibilities and Impact:
Role and responsibilities of a Senior Associate - Record to Report
The Senior Associate is responsible for ensuring the ledger integrity encompassing several duties, including but not limited to:
Month-End Close: Managing the end-to-end accounting within stipulated timelines as well as in adherence to the month end closing calendar of OSTTRA. This involves:
a. Lead the end-to-end month-end closing process for both revenue and expenditure, ensuring all financial activities are completed within OSTTRA's stipulated global timelines.
b. Apply ASC 606 / IFRS 15 standards to recognize revenue across complex subscription and volume-based models, while simultaneously managing the cost ledger through precise accruals, prepayments, and provisions.
c. Maintain the integrity of the balance sheet by managing detailed schedules for deferred revenue, unbilled receivables, Accruals and prepayments, ensuring accurate amortization and recognition of income and expenses.
d. Take full ownership of the preparation, review, and posting of month-end journals, ensuring every entry is substantiated by data and aligns with the underlying business drivers.
Reconciliation & Substantiation:
a. Perform and oversee meticulous monthly and quarterly reconciliations between billing systems (Sigma, Qlik, or in-house tools), cost sub-ledgers, and the SAP General Ledger to ensure data integrity across both revenue and expenditure.
b. Validate financial accuracy by tracking product-level system volumes and pricing across OSTTRA, ensuring that ledger entries for revenue and associated operating costs align with actual business activity.
Reporting: Assist in preparing revenue & cost related disclosures and analysis for internal management reporting and external financial statements.
Audit Support: Support internal and external audits by providing clear, auditable documentation and explanations for all revenue / cost related inquiries. Serve as the key point of contact for external auditors on all revenue / cost related inquiries
Internal Controls: To ensure month end processes are governed as per local policies and procedures and are complied with the internal financial control process at OSTTRA.
Process Improvement: Proactively identifying opportunities to enhance and streamline accounting processes, leveraging automation and best practices to improve efficiency and accuracy.
Initiatives / Projects: Lead initiatives / projects as required to support any business driven / system changes.
Stakeholder Management: Collaborate cross-functionally with teams such as Group Financial Control, Legal Entity Control, FP&A, and Technical Accounting to strategically address and resolve ad-hoc financial and operational challenges.

Basic Required Experience:
To be successful in this role, candidates must possess a mix of Technical & Professional competencies. They must be adept at:
Experience: 10-12 years of relevant experience in an accounting or finance role, with a good exposure in both Revenue & Costs accounting and assurance.
Financial & Accounting Acumen: Good understanding of accounting principles (US GAAP) and financial reporting
Driving Change & System Implementation: Good working experience in process & system transition (Preferably SAP). As a process owner, can play a key role in implementations before go-live and can manage post go-live. Someone who embraces and champions change, thrive in dynamic environments, and drives innovation.
Team Management: A dependable team player who works well with colleagues worldwide, taking full ownership of your goals and high-quality work to help the team succeed.
Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial information clearly and concisely to key stakeholders.
Analytical skills: Strong ability to analyse financial data, identify trends, and explain variances.
Attention to Detail: Meticulous approach to reviewing financial data, reconciliations, and journal entries to ensure 100% accuracy.
Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage competing priorities effectively.
Problem-solving: Proactive and solution-oriented mindset, with the ability to identify issues and implement effective resolutions.
Technological proficiency:
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, pivot tables, advanced formulas) and experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
Qualifications:
Graduates in Finance, and preferred are CA / ICWA / MBA Finance
Specialization in both revenue & cost accounting at least the last 5 years.
Strong experience with month-end close procedures and financial reporting.
