Role description








The Global Mobility Associate provides operational support to the Global Mobility function with Grant Thornton INDUS firm, enabling the team to deliver solutions to clients seamlessly across all relocation programs. This position supports the execution of international assignments and domestic relocations for current employees and partners, as well as new hire candidates. The role coordinates and interacts with employees, Partners, service line leaders, human resources, finance teams (payroll, accounts payable, and accounting), tax and immigration, as well as the firm's external vendors and other Grant Thornton member firms in the execution of international assignments and relocation at the international and domestic level.





This role is a key member of the Global Mobility team in ensuring the required steps of the mobility process are executed with excellence, as well as support of firmwide mobility goals and objectives.



Core Responsibilities




Oversee workflow for U.S. firm transfer process for firm employees, including geographic and service line changes that are firm initiated, opportunistic or accommodation moves Provide regular reporting/dashboards on data volumes for firm transfers Review initial transfer requests to confirm eligibility of transferee for opportunity and applicable policy Route transfer requests for approval and handle escalations/questions Coordinate with internal partners, law firms, and RMC to obtain immigration analysis, relocation cost estimates under the direction of leadership Complete final review of transfer automation to ensure no "fs" and all gaps addressed prior to push for requestion approval and finalization Oversee automation for the collection of data required to open a new assignment opportunity Ensure seamless and timely execution of transfers, identify gaps in automation, pain points and bottlenecks through regular data review. Develop system for review of data from automation of process to make recommendations for process improvements. Maintain record of all process improvements and automation enhancements. Improve survey questions to specifically gather feedback on prior pain points and escalation points. Oversee collection of feedback from transferee on experience. Review data aggregation and review of feedback to leaders to make recommendations on automation enhancement opportunities. Ensure seamless initiation of cases with RMC where this service is required Prepare assignment approval forms, transfer letters, assignment letters and promissory notes Coordinate with internal HR stakeholders on domestic relocation approvals required for any domestic transfers executed at the end of an international assignment Coordinate with member firm network on the management of localization requests within network Oversee automation of workflow for international work and travel requests Ensure daily management and monitoring of active international work requests and transfer to escalate and push as appropriate Manage domestic mobility and international work request inboxes to provide responses to routine queries and direct/escalate requests for more additional information Review all international work and travel requests for completeness and to confirm applicable firm policy Automate next steps in the workflow once initial intake form reviewed Ensure feedback is obtained, categorized and analyzed for future utilization on each request Serve as the SME for the process flow and vetting process for these requests Monitor, manage and update the firm resources pages for these process flows on Canvas Collaborate with external and internal legal counsel, mobility leadership, business colleagues, tax professionals and immigration specialists on exceptions to firm policy supported by leadership Manage process for international work/travel requests to stick to policy and minimize exceptions Oversee the improvement and refinement of the intake process for international work flow requests Prepare and maintain new mobility oriented protocols and templates as required Produce reports of international work request flow dash boards/domestic transfer volumes and any other requested metrics to key stakeholders Maintain and update policy and protocol documentation on internal website Develop overviews of the lifecycle and approval process, checklists for transferees, and manage development and refinement of template communication Cross-train and support other Global Mobility roles Perform special projects as assigned Assist with mobility-related initiatives and program enhancements Exercise judgment and escalate issues when appropriate

A business-minded HR/Talent professional with experience supporting general HR roles and/or exposure to relocation and/or immigration programs, with demonstrated ability to thrive in a culture that is collaborative, service-oriented, and consultative

The ideal candidate will possess:




Bachelor's degree

2-3 years of past experience functioning as an HR/Talent Coordinator and/or working with Global Mobility programs, preferably within consulting or professional services environment

Proven ability to consistently and positively contribute in a high-paced environment

A reputation for discretion, integrity, judgment, responsiveness, strong attention to detail and common sense

Solid PC skills with proficiency in MS Office including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Comfort with ambiguity; ability to use sound judgment to drive competing issues to resolution

Demonstrated flexibility working in a dynamic and rapidly changing organization

Strong English written, listening and verbal communication skills

Knowledge of and sensitivity to country norms, global cultures and practices and the ability to empathize with employees

A highly motivated self-starter, able to work with minimal supervision
