Who You Are : Database Expert (MS SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL) Position: Database Developer/Administrator Experience: 4+ years of extensive experience with MS SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and MySQL Job Summary: We are looking for a highly skilled and versatile database expert with proficiency in MS SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and MySQL. As a Database Expert, you will be responsible for designing, developing, implementing, and maintaining databases across multiple platforms. You will collaborate with software developers, system administrators, and stakeholders to ensure efficient and reliable database operations. Responsibilities: Database Design and Development: Design, develop, and optimize databases, tables, views, stored procedures, and functions in MS SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and MySQL. Ensure efficient indexing, data organization, and schema design for optimal performance. Performance Tuning and Optimization: Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, optimize queries, and fine-tune database configurations to ensure optimal system performance across MS SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and MySQL platforms. Data Integration and ETL: Develop and maintain ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes to extract data from various sources, transform it, and load it into databases of different platforms (MS SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL). Troubleshoot and resolve data integration issues. Database Administration: Perform routine database administration tasks, including backups, restores, maintenance plans, and security management across MS SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and MySQL. Monitor database performance, availability, and capacity to ensure high uptime and scalability. Database Security: Implement and maintain database security measures, including user access controls, data encryption, and vulnerability assessments across MS SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and MySQL platforms. Ensure compliance with industry regulations and data protection standards. Data Migration and Upgrades: Plan and execute database migration projects, including upgrading database versions, moving data between platforms, and ensuring data integrity throughout the process for MS SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and MySQL. Troubleshooting and Support: Investigate and resolve database-related issues, such as performance problems, data corruption, and system failures across MS SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and MySQL platforms. Provide technical support to development teams and end-users. Documentation and Training: Create and maintain technical documentation, including database schemas, data dictionaries, and operational procedures for MS SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and MySQL. Conduct training sessions for developers and users on best practices and features of each platform. Requirements: Minimum 4+ years of hands-on experience working with MS SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and MySQL in development or administrative capacity. Strong proficiency in writing complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and performance tuning across MS SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and MySQL. Experience with ETL processes and data integration using tools like SSIS (SQL Server Integration Services), PostgreSQL ETL tools (e.g., Talend, Pentaho), and MySQL data integration tools. Solid understanding of database design principles, normalization, indexing, and schema management across MS SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and MySQL. Expertise in troubleshooting and resolving database performance and connectivity issues across MS SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and MySQL. Familiarity with database security best practices and compliance requirements across MS SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and MySQL. Experience with database migration and upgrade projects across MS SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and MySQL. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. Strong communication and documentation skills. Preferred Qualifications: Relevant certifications in MS SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and MySQL. Experience with high availability and disaster recovery solutions for each platform. Familiarity with cloud-based database services like Azure SQL Database, Amazon RDS for PostgreSQL and MySQL.
