Senior Application Engineer

This is an excellent opportunity to join Design Enablement team of Arm\'s Physical Design Group (PDG) as an Applications Engineer (AE). AEs help PDG\'s engineers to build exciting products for Arm technology and for Our partners. This role gives the possibility to be at the forefront of technological evolution and accelerate innovation in memory design.

Location

This role would be based out of Bangalore, India and You shall be part of an international team working across different countries.

About the role

Applications Engineering is a varied, deeply technical role, where you shall not only use your expertise but your interpersonal skills to support the engineers through their technical challenges. This role is mostly focusing on Arm Memory Design enablement and our main users are the engineers designing the memories.

Working with engineers means understanding their requirements, analyze their requests and issues, and provide a solution that moves them forward. This role involves anticipating and debugging flow issues, support engineers with workarounds, automation, work with EDA vendors, provide scripts and documentation. You shall also help in improving our products, design flow, quality, and efficiency. You shall be acting as a bridge between software and design teams. You shall be among the first ones to get your hand on the latest EDA and internal software tools.

As the experience grows, you would also be working with EDA vendors to drive solutions which helps our engineers. You may be required to mentor and guide more junior members of the team, passing on your deep experience and expertise and assisting with the development of the best working practices within the group.

Job Requirements

  • Understand engineering issues, constraints and needs, and provide fast and accurate solutions
  • Propose and develop scripts and techniques to optimally solve design flow problems.
  • Work with PDG design and software teams to improve user experience and influence SW feature development
  • Test SW deliverables and provide feedback to Design Enablement team prior to release to the design teams.
  • Develop and deliver technical trainings for new tools.
  • Be autonomous and proactive with good analytical skills.
Key Technical Skills & Expertise
  • B. Tech Degree or higher qualification in Electronics Engineering or equivalent
  • Good understanding of Memory design and verification methodologies.
  • Experience of working with Linux OS and LSF i.e., Load Sharing Facility
  • Good understanding of scripting languages (Shell/Perl/python).
  • Good communication skills and ability to work with teams spreading cross countries/cross time-zones.
  • Very good ability to break down and solve complex problems.
Desirable Skills
  • Familiarity with Arm memory design and design flow.
  • Knowledge of GNU-make.
