Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated

Junior Associate - US Accounting & Compliance

to join our consulting firm's growing US practice. The ideal candidate will have

2-3 years of hands-on experience in US bookkeeping, US GAAP-based accounting, reconciliations, and compliance support

for US-based clients or US-focused processes.

This role offers the opportunity to work across

multi-industry US clients

, support

end-to-end accounting cycles

, and gain exposure to

US regulatory requirements

, audit support, and periodic reporting.

Key Responsibilities1. US Accounting & Bookkeeping



Maintain

full-cycle accounting

for US-based clients, including GL, AP, AR, bank feeds, and journal entries.

Prepare, review, and post

accruals, deferrals, prepayments, depreciation entries

, and adjusting entries.

Perform

bank, credit card, vendor, and intercompany reconciliations

with accuracy.

Assist in

month-end and year-end closing

in accordance with US GAAP principles.

Process and review

vendor bills, expense reimbursements, AR invoicing

, and payment tracking.

2. US GAAP & Financial Reporting



Ensure all transactions are accounted for in accordance with

US GAAP guidelines

.

Prepare

trial balances, general ledger summaries, P&L statements, and balance sheet schedules

.

Support the preparation of

management reports, variance analysis

, and client-specific reporting formats.

Assist in

audit-preparedness and audit support

for US clients.

3. Compliance & Regulatory Processes



Support US clients with

federal and state-level compliance tracking

, data collation, and pre-filing preparation.

Assist with documentation for

1099 filings, W-9 collection, sales tax data collation

, and supporting schedules.

Maintain updated working papers required for

CPA, IRS filings, and statutory reviews

.

Help ensure clients' financial records adhere to

US regulations, internal controls

, and audit requirements.

4. Software & Tools



Work on US accounting platforms including

QuickBooks Online/Desktop

,

Xero

,

NetSuite

, or similar.

Use Excel for

pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, reconciliations, tracker preparation

, and data modeling.

Manage client accounting workflows through project management/CRM tools as needed.

5. Client Interaction & Support



Coordinate with US clients for clarifications, missing documents, and periodic reporting deadlines.

Address client queries related to accounting entries, vendor statements, or reconciliations.

Maintain high standards of

data integrity, confidentiality

, and service delivery.

Required Skills & QualificationsTechnical Skills



Strong knowledge of

US bookkeeping

, accounting processes, and US GAAP fundamentals.

Hands-on experience with

QuickBooks (Online/Desktop)

is highly preferred.

Working understanding of

1099 compliance, W-9 management, sales tax basics

, or willingness to learn.

Strong command of Excel--pivot tables, lookups, conditional formulas, reconciliations.

Ability to handle

multi-client portfolios

and manage deadlines simultaneously.

Professional Skills



Excellent analytical and numerical ability with a high level of accuracy.

Strong communication skills (both written and spoken).

Ability to work independently, stay organized, and handle time-sensitive tasks.

Demonstrates responsibility, ownership, and proactive problem-solving.

Preferred Qualifications (Good to Have)



Experience in a

consulting, outsourcing, or audit firm

handling US client.

Familiarity with

US tax basics

, CPA workflows, or financial review processes.

Exposure to tools like Bill.com, Gusto, ADP, or other US payroll/accounting software.
