About the Team:

The Stores Finance team supports Lowe's store leaders by providing critical financial insights that drive operational excellence. We partner closely with store finance and store operations managers to deliver clear visibility into expenses and budgets through intuitive dashboards and timely analytics. By leveraging data, automation, and advanced reporting, the team empowers stores to make informed decisions, manage expenses effectively, and stay aligned with business goals.



We are looking for a Senior analyst who will play a pivotal role in advancing the analytical and reporting capabilities of the Stores Finance team. As part of a high-performing group of financial analysts, this role is responsible for enabling data-driven decision-making across the company's Price Adjustments and Store Operations' businesses by delivering accurate, insightful, and timely financial and business intelligence.

The ideal candidate is not just a seasoned financial analyst but a problem solver; someone who is comfortable exploring and mining large datasets to develop scalable visual tools and dashboards to unlock actionable insights about Store Controllable Price Adjustments and other business functions within Stores Finance, through advanced analytics and machine learning.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Reporting business intelligence and analysis of store performance for different stores functions.

2. Build tools that help simulate expense scenarios, decompose roots of expenses, claw back margin.

3. Lead transformation of recurring reporting and dashboards into fully automated, zero-manual-intervention systems.

4. Implement AI tools to drive efficiency in reporting, analyses and productivity

5. Ensure accuracy, consistency, and timely availability of financial reports across sales, margin, and expenses.

6. Forecasting & Predictive Analytics: Develop and maintain machine learning models to forecast sales and expenses with a focus on accuracy and business relevance.

7. Use predictive analytics to identify margin improvement opportunities and operational efficiencies.

8. Customer-Level Analytics: Analyze behavior patterns of customers to assign predictive risk and opportunity scores.

9. Performance Reporting: Own and publish financial performance reports at regular cadences as needed.

10. Ensure all published reports meet a gold standard of timeliness and accuracy; build systems to automate where possible.

11. Data Storytelling & Business Partnership: Translate complex data models, statistical analyses, and ML outputs into simple, actionable insights.

12. Build and present compelling narratives that influence decisions at the leadership and operational levels.

Success Factors:

To be successful in this role, the candidate must demonstrate:

o Technical Mastery & Automation Mindset:

o Advanced proficiency in Excel and Power BI.

o Strong experience with data modeling, DAX, and scripting languages (e.g., Python, SQL).

o A strong bias toward automation: Proactively eliminating manual tasks to improve scalability and reduce error.

o Advanced Analytical Thinking: Ability to develop and deploy machine learning models and advanced statistical techniques to solve business problems.

o Comfort with hypothesis testing, data segmentation, and scenario modeling.

o Business Acumen: Deep understanding of retail business performance drivers, especially in a multi-location, multi-stakeholder environment.

o Ability to contextualize financial performance in terms of broader business trends.

o Accuracy and Ownership: Holds high standards for precision, especially in published outputs.

o Communication & Influence: Exceptional data storytelling skills, able to simplify complex analyses for non-technical stakeholders.

o Strong presentation and collaboration skills across functional and geographic boundaries.

Ideal Candidate Profile

o 4-8 years of experience in financial analysis, preferably in a retail or CPG context.

o Demonstrated experience in automating financial reporting and building predictive models.

o Strong technical foundation in Excel, Power BI, SQL, and one or more analytics languages (e.g., Python/R).

o Thinker with attention to detail and passion for operational efficiency.
