What is the Senior Analyst - Investment & Trade Client Services - Broker Request - Portfolio Account Services Group responsible for?

The Senior Analyst will serve as the subject matter expert on brokerage onboardings, KYC and account onboarding and drive the related documentation process. Addresses KYC requests, takes the lead on onboarding brokers & tax form management.

Analyzes changing and emerging external regulatory requirements and makes recommendations on how best to proceed.

Ensures control measures are in place to support existing and new products, and both lead and participate in enhancement projects.

Supports and participates in various teams\xe2\x80\x99 miscellaneous initiatives to meet organizational goals. Manages contract information data in systems.

What are the ongoing responsibilities of a Senior Analyst - Investment & Trade Client Services - Broker Request?

Investment brokerage agreement, onboarding, and documentation Support:

Research, negotiate, decide, and communicate business terms for our trading agreements and coordinate, present and make recommendations to our Portfolio, Risk, and Operations groups.

Work with internal teams to collect and review all the necessary documentation and distribute it to the brokers for account onboarding and periodic KYC requests.

Manage the Broker Requests process to ensure it is running smooth, issues are promptly identified and corrected, opportunities are identified to create efficiencies, and execute improvements to reduce risk or lower costs.

Represent Portfolio Account Services as an account onboarding subject matter expert in committees and client on boarding meetings.

Review and comment on the Investment Management Agreement to assess impacts on the account onboarding (broker restrictions, market restrictions, etc.)

Tax Withholding Forms and Regulatory Protocols:

Work with Fund Tax teams to collect information, prepare and review W-8/W-9 and CRS forms for In-House funds.

Work with Internal teams to Collect and review W-8/W-9 and CRS for Separate accounts.

Track expiration dates and prepare or request forms prior to the expiration.

Complete regulatory protocols (Dodd Frank, EMIR, SBS, etc.) for trading derivatives on vendor platform.

Monitor industry trends and regulatory changes to assess impact to operations, and work with Legal to address any required new documentation or modification to existing documentation.

General Support:

Lead and participate in ad-hoc efforts and department projects with business groups.

Work with individuals at all levels within Franklin Templeton Investments to gather, analyze, and consolidate information to present recommendations to leaders to make decisions on key organizational issues.

What ideal qualifications, skills & experience would help someone to be successful?

Master\xe2\x80\x99s degree in business or finance with 3 - 6+ years of work experience

Additional Desirable Qualifications:

Experience in the area of financial services, with two to three years of derivative exposure would be ideal.

Experience in client service, project management or product development is preferred.

Supervisory Responsibility:

Assist supervisor with oversight of a functional group. Perform many supervisory type responsibilities, exclusive of any disciplinary, promotion and/or termination decisions.

Coordinate duties of departmental staff

Effective interpersonal and people-management skills.

Ability to motivate assigned staff, hold them accountable, organize workflow, and manage change.

Travel Requirements:

Business travel may be required for training and function transitions, typically not exceeding 5% of the time annually.
