Senior Analyst - Digital Data Governance ABOUT THE ROLE The Digital Data Governance Team sits in the GBS Data Office, part of Global Business Services. The DDG Team provides governance and management services for digital marketing data for the United States Commercial organisation. The Digital Data Governance Senior Analyst provides technical expertise to monitor quality; investigate and resolve problems; and support ongoing improvements. Typical Accountabilities Technical support - provide data management services to: Onboard new data sources - partner with IT, procurement, vendors and business users to coordinate onboarding of new data sources. Support ingestion of new files for exploration, and profile data quality. Review test submissions, identifying opportunities to standardise within the data platform. Support IT with development of operational ETL processes, including UAT Data issue resolution - triage data issues identified from data quality checks, user queries and operational alerts. Work with providers to define solutions to fix incorrect data at source, and validate that they are implemented. Identify root causes of data quality issues and propose process and system improvements, including additional monitoring Process improvement - identify and make recommendations for improvements to vendor data supply and ingestion processes. Monitoring - use data quality reporting tools, system reconciliations and direct data analysis to proactively identify potential data issues for resolution. Monitor incoming data files and feeds from internal and external providers, and identify issues for resolution. Documentation - support the documentation of relevant data solutions, including business rules applied Customer engagement - engage with Omnichannel teams, analytics teams, data governance and other users to triage issues and requests. Act as first line escalation point for the DDG Team. Vendor engagement - host regular and ad hoc meetings with vendors and partners to resolve issues and drive quality improvements Reporting - collate metrics and reporting for all team activities. Provide updates to data management and user forums on progress of initiatives and issue resolutio, Education, Qualifications, Skills and Experience Essential Background in data analysis and issue investigation in a complex data and system environment Good understanding of data quality and data management principles Proficient with SQL Proactive, analytical and investigative mindset Proficient in Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Customer focus Strong written and verbal communication skills Able to present data and reports in an easily understandable format Desirable Experience with digital, multi-channel and omni-channel marketing Pharmaceutical business awareness/business domain knowledge Experience using data quality profiling and monitoring tools Experience of working in a complex global organisation Experience of data partnerships Working knowledge of Python Customer data solution e.g. Tealium Data catalogue solutions e.g. Collibra
