Introduction:

  • A member of Wholesale Lending Operations, this position will report to the Team Manager in Post Sanction Collateral team and responsible for supporting Credit and Case Managers, RDs /RSMs who are developing and maintaining relationships with a portfolio of Corporate customers and connected Personal customers.
  • Responsible for proactively managing a portfolio of lending cases providing ‘best in class’ post sanction security documentations and processing, maintenance support primarily to Credit Managers and Case Managers and Relationship Directors/Relationship Managers (RDs/MDs) with varying client base coupled with simple and complex group structures underpinning lending & PSF requirements.
  • Pro-actively driving cases/collateral requests to their logical conclusion in order to meet client timelines and expectations whilst ensuring all regulatory/internal & Legal procedures are adhered to.
  • Proactive collaboration/partnership with key processing areas e.g. Credit/Product/sales etc. to ensure completion of cases
  • Proactive collaboration with Relationship points, Credit and others to ensure client requirements are met and the Bank’s position is safeguarded
  • Provide expert support and advice to Credit Managers and other post sanction colleagues/Check submissions against sanction to ensure that the Bank’s position is safeguarded.
  • Support the end-to-end lending process for the creation and issuance of facility agreements along with drawing / marking of new facilities. Deal with complex and standard requests to agreed levels of accuracy and efficiency using automated or manual systems and equipment. Ensure that Service Level Agreements are met and operational performance is optimized.
  • Support continuous improvement of the operational process and the development of Best Practice. Suggest ideas to improve systems and processes where necessary and evaluate the benefits and risks of such proposals.

What will you be doing?
  • Primarily play a role of a "Checker" on simple and medium work types and a role of a “Maker” for complex work types supporting business delivery objectives
  • Accredited on all (Primary) process work types and also cross trained on one additional process in Collateral Team (Across Security Processing, Security Documentation, Valuations and Release & Maintenance)
  • Perform checker activities and also any training checks for new joiners within the team
  • Support training reviews and on floor training for new joiners
  • Proactively contribute to team performance through maintaining a flexible approach to tasks, providing input to continuous improvement and being receptive to change.
  • Attend/Drive team meetings and contribute to environment of mutual support by sharing knowledge with other team members and train new joiners.
  • Liaise with the Team Manager from time to time to deliver/drive process and business related imperatives
  • Drive and participate in Colleague related imperatives within functional space as well as at business level
  • Report issues and concerns in a timely manner to managers and with complete information, in an effort to prevent or limit possible damage
  • Take quick decisions in difficult situation to resolve operational issues and remove roadblocks threating SLA’s / objectives and keep stakeholders informed.
  • Preparing legal documents, loading valuations to security system, releasing of security and perfecting a charge in system accurately in line with Lending procedures and within the stipulated time frame in order to meet drawdown deadlines.
  • Proactively identifying, resolving and when necessary escalate verbally & in written format, discrepancies and issues using in-depth knowledge of the collateral process – e.g. incorrect beneficiaries in legal documents, incorrect valuation amount in full serve resulting in potential loss.
  • Liaise with other upstream and downstream teams of the Bank verbally, in writing or through systems relating to issuance of legal documents, loading valuations to security system, releasing of security and perfecting a charge in system etc.
Team Working (5%)
  • Liaise with the Team Manager providing feedback to aid performance development for other members of PSF
  • Attend team meetings and contribute to environment of mutual support by sharing knowledge with other team members
  • Proactively contribute to team performance through maintaining a flexible approach to tasks, providing input to continuous improvement and being receptive to change.
  • Drive Continuous improvement in perfecting securities and its touch points, produce impact assessments outlining benefit of change and follow though to implementation ensuring appropriate sign offs e.g. Controls function
What we’re looking for:
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Operational & Rigour procedures, tools & practices
  • Previous experience in lending related roles with knowledge of relevant technology/applications e.g. Siebel, IBM BPM, Customer System (Full serve), CRM, E-mail servicing, ZEUS etc.
  • A comprehensive understanding of the function of the Centre in order to complete the end to end process
  • Proven ability to apply detailed & comprehensive technical understanding in a coherent & logical manner.
  • Previous experience working in a customer service environment.
  • Min. 3-5 years’ experience in financial Services with focus on Lending Operations
Skills that will help you in the role:
  • A detailed understanding of the end to end lending process and its component functions e.g. Client, Relationship point, Credit, Post sanction fulfilment etc.
  • Graduate in B.com or BBA
