As part of AECOM's Transit & Rail business, the Senior AFC Expert will lead the planning, design, and implementation of Automatic Fare Collection systems for railway and metro projects. The role involves managing end-to-end AFC system lifecycles, ensuring technical compliance, and coordinating with stakeholders to deliver efficient, user-friendly, and secure fare collection solutions. The expert will act as a key technical authority, providing strategic guidance and hands-on expertise to ensure project success.
Job Duties:

• Lead the design, development, and deployment of AFC systems, including ticketing, validation, and payment infrastructure.
• Define system architecture, technical specifications, and integration requirements for AFC systems.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, client requirements, and emerging technologies (e.g., contactless payments, QR codes, NFC, and mobile ticketing).
• Oversee AFC project lifecycles, from concept design to commissioning and operational readiness.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including civil, systems, and IT teams, to ensure seamless integration of AFC systems with station infrastructure.
• Manage vendor selection, procurement, and contract negotiations for AFC hardware and software solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
• A Master's degree in Systems Engineering, Transportation, or Business Administration is preferred.

Additional Information

• 15+ years of experience in the railway industry, with a strong focus on AFC systems.
• Proven track record of delivering AFC systems for metro, railway, or large-scale transit projects.
