Responsible for overseeing and managing all financial and accounting operations of the jewellery showroom. This includes maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, monitoring inventory and stock valuation, controlling cash flow, and supporting management in financial decision-making. Experience in jewellery industry accounting is highly preferred due to the specialized nature of gold, diamonds, and gemstone inventory valuation.
Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements, ledgers, and accounts.
Ensure timely month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing.
Prepare Profit & Loss statements, Balance Sheets, Cash Flow statements.
Conduct financial analysis and provide insights to management.
2. Inventory & Stock Management
Oversee stock accounting for gold, diamonds, gemstones, and finished jewellery.
Monitor daily stock movement and reconcile physical stock with system records.
Ensure correct valuation of inventory (e.g., purity, weight, wastage, making charges).
Coordinate with showroom managers for periodic stock audits.
3. Cash & Banking Management
Oversee daily cash collections, deposits, and reconciliation.
Manage petty cash, cash flow forecasts, and fund allocation.
Monitor credit card, UPI, and online transactions for accuracy.
4. Compliance & Taxation
Ensure GST compliance, return filings, and reconciliation.
Handle TDS, professional tax, and other statutory responsibilities.
Liaise with auditors, tax consultants, and regulatory authorities.
5. Internal Controls & Process Management
Implement and monitor internal controls for billing, stock handling, and cash management.
Review and approve vouchers, purchase invoices, and expense claims.
Improve accounting processes to enhance efficiency and reduce discrepancies.
6. Payroll & Staff Management
Oversee payroll preparation and employee reimbursement.
Maintain staff attendance and leave records in coordination with HR.
Guide and supervise junior accountants and support staff.
7. Management Support
Provide financial insights for pricing, purchasing, and sales strategies.
Assist in budgeting and forecasting for the showroom.
Present periodic financial reports to senior management.
Key Skills & Competencies
Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
Experience with jewellery accounting, stock valuation, and purity-weight calculations.
Expertise in GST, TDS, and statutory compliance.
Proficiency in accounting software (Tally ERP, Zoho Books, or jewellery ERP systems).
Excellent analytical, leadership, and communication skills.
High integrity, attention to detail, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce.
CA/CPA/CMA certification (preferred, not mandatory).
Minimum 10 years of accounting experience
