The Senior Accounts Executive is responsible for overseeing daily accounting operations, preparing accurate financial statements and reports, and ensuring compliance with all relevant financial regulations. This role requires a strong understanding of accounting principles, exceptional analytical skills, and the ability to mentor junior staff.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Operations Management:
Oversee and manage the full spectrum of daily accounting activities, including Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), and General Ledger (GL) maintenance.
Conduct bank and account reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and resolving discrepancies promptly.
Manage and process payroll, ensuring accurate calculation of salaries, statutory deductions (like EPF, ESIC, PT), and timely payment.
Financial Reporting & Analysis:
Prepare and review accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including Balance Sheets, Profit & Loss statements, and Cash Flow statements.
Analyze financial data and provide insightful reports and commentary to management to support strategic decision-making and business growth.
Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts.
Compliance & Audit:
Ensure strict compliance with all local and national financial regulations, including GST, TDS, and other tax laws.
Oversee and coordinate with internal and external auditors during periodic financial audits.
Develop, implement, and maintain effective internal financial controls and procedures.
Team Leadership & Mentorship:
Provide guidance, training, and mentorship to junior accounting staff and account executives.
Collaborate effectively with other departments (e.g., HR, Operations) to resolve complex financial or procedural issues.
Required Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Master's degree (e.g., MBA in Finance) or professional certification is often preferred.
Experience:
Minimum of 4-7 years of progressive experience in an accounting or finance role.
Technical Skills:
Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and financial reporting standards.
Proven proficiency in accounting software Tally and advanced MS Excel skills (VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables, etc.).
In-depth knowledge of taxation and regulatory compliance (e.g., GST, TDS, Labour Laws).
