Job Description

The Senior Accountant is responsible for overseeing daily accounting operations, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, maintaining general ledger integrity, and supporting month-end and year-end closing activities. This role also provides guidance to junior accounting staff and collaborates with cross-functional teams to support organizational financial goals.

Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Accounting & Reporting

Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Manage general ledger entries, reconciliations, and adjustments. Ensure compliance with accounting standards (GAAP/IFRS). Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.

Month-End / Year-End Closing

Lead month-end close activities. Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, and provisions. Coordinate with auditors for statutory and internal audits.

Budgeting & Forecasting

Assist in preparing annual budgets and quarterly forecasts. Analyze budget vs. actual variances and provide insights.

Taxation & Compliance

Support tax filings (GST/VAT, income tax, TDS/withholding, corporate taxes). Ensure compliance with local regulations and internal controls.

Process Improvement

Implement and enhance internal financial controls. Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes.

Team Support

Guide, train, and review work of junior accountants. Collaborate with finance, operations, HR, procurement, and other departments.
