The Assistant Manager - Finance is responsible for supporting the Finance Manager in managing the company's financial operations, ensuring statutory compliance, handling reporting and audits, and improving financial processes. This role plays a key part in budgeting, financial analysis, and operational finance functions.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting & Analysis:
Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
Analyze financial performance, variances, and trends for management reporting.
Ensure accurate and timely consolidation of financial reports.
Support preparation of board reports and investor presentations (if applicable).
Budgeting & Forecasting:
Support annual budgeting and periodic forecasting exercises.
Monitor actuals vs. budget and report deviations.
Assist in cost control and cost-benefit analysis for major expenditures.
Accounts Management:
Supervise daily accounting operations including Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), and general ledger.
Ensure timely bank reconciliations and month-end/year-end closings.
Monitor cash flows and support treasury functions.
Compliance & Taxation:
Ensure timely compliance with GST, TDS, Income Tax, PF, ESI, and other statutory filings.
Assist in internal, statutory, and tax audits.
Liaise with auditors, tax consultants, and regulatory authorities.
Maintain accurate and organized financial records for audit and regulatory purposes.
Banking & Treasury:
Coordinate with banks for daily transactions, loans, and credit facilities.
Manage documentation related to working capital loans, term loans, and LC/BG issuance.
Monitor interest rates, bank charges, and cash/fund flow management.
Internal Controls & Process Improvement:
Identify gaps and assist in implementing internal controls and process improvements.
Support development and enforcement of financial policies and SOPs.
Participate in ERP or financial system upgrades and implementations.
Qualifications & Skills:
Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, or Commerce. (MBA Finance preferred)
3-5 years of experience in core finance and accounting functions.
Strong knowledge of financial regulations, taxation, and reporting standards.
Proficiency in accounting software (Tally, SAP, or similar ERP) and MS Excel.
High attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving ability.
Excellent organizational, communication, and team management skills.

Office-based, may require extended hours during month-end or audit periods.
Occasional travel to bank branches, or auditors.
