The Senior Accountant oversees day-to-day accounting operations, ensures accurate financial reporting, and supports compliance with statutory and organizational standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage general ledger activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end closing.
Prepare financial statements, MIS reports, and variance analysis.
Handle accounts payable and receivable, including vendor and customer reconciliation.
Review and ensure accurate GST, TDS, PF, ESIC, and other statutory compliance filings.
Monitor cash flow, banking activities, and fund management.
Support audits by preparing schedules and coordinating with internal/external auditors.
Verify and approve expense claims, invoices, and payment processes.
Maintain asset registers and oversee depreciation calculations.
Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and cost analysis.
Implement internal controls and ensure adherence to company financial policies.
Guide junior accounting staff and provide necessary training when required.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
Minimum 4-6 years of accounting experience; senior-level experience preferred.
Strong knowledge of accounting standards, taxation, and statutory compliance.
Proficiency in Tally, ERP systems, and MS Excel.
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks effectively.
Preferred:
Experience in handling audits and financial reporting independently.
Knowledge of industry-specific accounting practices.
