The Work You'll Do:
At Sovos, we're seeking a talented Senior Accountant to join our India office. In this role, you'll play a crucial part in managing financial operations for our growing presence in India while collaborating with our global finance team. The ideal candidate will bring strong accounting expertise, NetSuite experience, and an understanding of Indian accounting principles and regulations.
More specifically, you will:
Manage day-to-day accounting operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries for our India office
Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with local regulatory requirements
Lead month-end and year-end closing processes while working closely with the global finance team
Reconcile accounts, identify discrepancies, and implement corrective measures
Develop and maintain financial reporting systems in NetSuite
Support tax compliance requirements and prepare documentation for audits
Analyze financial data to provide insights for business decision-making
Collaborate across time zones with finance team members in different regions
Participate in process improvement initiatives and system enhancements
What We Need From You
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
5+ years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a senior role
NetSuite experience and proficiency with financial management systems
Experience working in the software industry is highly desirable
Strong knowledge of Indian accounting principles, tax regulations, and compliance requirements
Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with global teams
Strong communication skills with proficiency in English
Experience with multi-currency transactions and international accounting practices
Problem-solving mindset with the ability to identify process improvements
Due to client contractual obligations, the successful candidate will be asked to clear a background check upon hire
