Job Summary
The Senior Accountant will be responsible for overseeing the financial operations of MEP project activities, ensuring accurate accounting, compliance with statutory norms, and effective financial controls. The role requires strong expertise in
Tally ERP
,
payroll management
, and
contracting/project accounting
, along with a deep understanding of statutory compliance related to construction and MEP industries.
Manage day-to-day accounting operations for multiple MEP projects.
Prepare project cost reports, monitor budgets, and track expenses.
Ensure proper allocation of costs to respective projects and cost centers.
Review Work Orders, Purchase Orders, and vendor agreements for correctness.
2. Tally ERP & General Ledger Management
Maintain accurate financial records in
Tally ERP/Tally Prime
.
Handle ledger scrutiny, journal entries, reconciliation, and month-end closing.
Manage accounts payable/receivable, vendor payments, and customer billing.
3. Payroll & Employee Expense Management
Process monthly payroll in coordination with HR/management.
Maintain attendance, overtime, and compliance-related payroll records.
Handle employee advances, settlements, reimbursements, and statutory payroll deductions (PF, ESI, PT, TDS).
4. Statutory Compliance & Reporting
Ensure timely compliance with
GST, TDS, PF, ESI, PT
, and other statutory norms.
Prepare and file monthly/quarterly/annual returns.
Coordinate with auditors for statutory and internal audits.
Maintain documentation as per compliance standards.
5. Financial Reporting & Analysis
Prepare MIS reports, profitability statements, cash flow statements, and project cost summaries.
Support management decision-making through accurate financial forecasts and analysis.
Conduct variance analysis between actual vs. budgeted project expenses.
6. Vendor & Client Coordination
Liaise with suppliers, subcontractors, and consultants regarding invoices, payments, and reconciliations.
Coordinate with clients for invoices, payment follow-up, and commercial documentation.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor's/Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce.
5-10 years of experience
in accounting within the
MEP/Construction/Contracting
sector.
Strong proficiency in
Tally ERP/Tally Prime
and MS Excel.
Experience in
payroll processing
and statutory payroll compliance.
Solid understanding of
project accounting
, cost control, and financial documentation.
Knowledge of Indian
accounting standards
,
GST
,
TDS
, and other statutory regulations.
Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and manage deadlines.
Preferred Attributes
Experience working with subcontractors, consultants, and MEP teams.
Exposure to WBS (Work Breakdown Structure), BOQs, and project costing.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
