Financial Management

Handle the

full set of accounts

using ERP systems like SAP or Microsoft Dynamics Business Central. Prepare

monthly closing reports

, audit schedules, and financial statements (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow). Oversee

accounts payable and receivable

, ensuring timely invoicing and collections.

Taxation & Compliance

Manage

GST reporting

, and assist with

corporate tax computations

and analysis. Ensure compliance with

maritime financial regulations

, international accounting standards, and local tax laws. Support audits and liaise with external auditors and tax consultants.

Cost & Revenue Analysis

Track and allocate costs to correct

revenue/cost centers

, especially for vessel operations, port charges, and bunker expenses. Analyze financial performance across shipping routes, charters, and fleet operations.

Shipping-Specific Duties

Reconcile voyage accounts and monitor freight income, demurrage, and port disbursements. Assist in budgeting and forecasting for fleet maintenance, dry-docking, and vessel acquisition. Implement and support systems like

AIS (Accounting Information System)

or

GTP (Global Trade Platform)

for shipping finance.

Team Leadership & Collaboration

Mentor junior accountants and coordinate with operations, procurement, and legal teams. Contribute to process improvements and automation of financial workflows.
