Job Description

Key Responsibilities

1. Financial Accounting & Reporting

Maintain accurate books of accounts in compliance with accounting standards and company policies. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Reconcile general ledger accounts and ensure timely posting of all transactions. Monitor accounts payable and receivable, and oversee vendor/customer reconciliations.

2. Budgeting & Forecasting

Assist in preparing annual budgets and periodic forecasts. Track budget variances and highlight deviations to management.

3. Statutory Compliance

Ensure timely filing of GST, TDS, PF, ESI, and other statutory returns. Liaise with auditors (internal, statutory, and tax) and ensure audit compliance. Keep updated with amendments in taxation laws and accounting standards.

4. Cost Control & Analysis

Track project-wise costs (e.g., ship repair/refit jobs) and analyze profitability. Implement internal cost control measures and suggest process improvements.

5. Team Coordination & Process Improvement

Supervise junior accountants and guide them in daily operations. Develop and implement efficient accounting processes and internal controls.

Qualifications & Skills

Education:

B.Com / M.Com / CA Inter / CMA Inter / Fully qualified CA/CMA preferred.

Experience:

Minimum 5-8 years in accounting, preferably in shipbuilding, ship repair, engineering, or manufacturing industries.

Skills:

Strong knowledge of Tally ERP / SAP or other accounting software. Excellent understanding of GST, TDS, and statutory compliance. Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills. Good communication and leadership abilities.
