Responsibilities

Financial reporting:

Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.

General ledger management:

Oversee daily accounting operations, manage the general ledger, and ensure all financial transactions are accurately recorded.

Compliance and audits:

Ensure timely and accurate filing of all statutory returns, including GST and TDS. Serve as the primary contact for internal and external audits.

Reconciliations:

Perform complex account reconciliations, including bank statements, accounts payable, and accounts receivable, to ensure data integrity.

Budgeting and forecasting:

Support the finance team in developing and managing budgets, forecasts, and financial analysis to inform strategic business decisions.

Process improvement:

Develop, document, and improve accounting processes and internal controls to increase efficiency and accuracy within the finance department.

Leadership and mentorship:

Guide and mentor junior accounting staff, reviewing their work and fostering a high-performance team environment.

Interdepartmental collaboration:

Work with other departments, such as product development and IT services, to ensure accurate financial reporting and to provide financial guidance.
Qualifications and skillsEssential

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; a Master's degree is a plus. Minimum of 4-6 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in the technology or software industry. In-depth knowledge of Indian GAAP and accounting principles. Demonstrated expertise in tax filings, including GST and TDS. Advanced proficiency in MS Excel (including pivot tables and advanced functions) and experience with a major accounting software like Tally ERP or Zoho Books. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills, with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
