Job Description

Senior Accountant -manages a jewellery business's finances, focusing on accuracy, compliance, and efficiency. Key duties include inventory management, handling accounts payable/receivable, preparing financial statements, assisting with tax returns (like GST and TDS), managing high-value transactions, and providing financial insights for better business decisions and profitability. The role requires strong knowledge of the jewellery industry's specific financial nuances, such as cost accounting and pricing strategies.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Recordkeeping: Maintain accurate financial records and ledgers for daily transactions.

Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.

Inventory & Cost Management: Oversee inventory accounting, assist in cost analysis, and contribute to pricing strategies for gold and diamond jewellery.

Accounts Payable & Receivable: Manage invoices, payments, and customer accounts efficiently.

Taxation & Compliance: Ensure compliance with regulations and handle tax-related matters such as GST and TDS.

Audit Support: Collaborate with internal and external auditors and provide necessary documentation.

Financial Analysis: Analyze financial performance to provide actionable insights to management, contributing to strategic planning.

Transaction Management: Handle and document high-value jewellery transactions with proper KYC procedures.

Skills and Qualifications

Education:

A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

Experience:

Experience in accounting, with a preference for candidates with specific experience in the jewellery industry.

Software Proficiency:

Familiarity with accounting software and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.

Industry Knowledge:

Understanding of the unique financial aspects of the jewellery industry, including inventory, cost accounting, and high-value transactions.

Technical Skills:

Strong analytical abilities, accuracy, attention to detail, proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, and knowledge of accounting principles.

Soft Skills:

Excellent organizational skills and the ability to provide valuable financial insights to management.
