We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented
Senior Accountant
to manage and oversee general accounting operations by controlling and verifying our financial transactions. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for reconciling account balances, maintaining the general ledger, preparing month-end close procedures, and ensuring compliance with financial policies and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee and manage the general accounting functions, including, but not limited to: accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and taxes.
Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements and reports.
Ensure accuracy and effectiveness in all accounting tasks.
Support budget and forecasting activities.
Review and recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures.
Reconcile bank statements and monitor daily cash flow.
Assist with internal and external audits.
Maintain and analyze financial information to prepare entries to accounts, such as general ledger accounts, documenting business transactions.
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
Supervise and support junior accounting staff.
Identify and suggest improvements to existing procedures.
Collaborate with finance team and other departments to support overall goals and objectives.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA, CMA or equivalent certification preferred).
Minimum [3-5+] years of progressive accounting experience.
Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices (GAAP or IFRS).
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle, NetSuite).
Advanced MS Excel skills (e.g., Vlookups, pivot tables).
Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
Attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree in Accounting or Finance.
Experience with ERP systems implementation or upgrades.
Knowledge of industry-specific accounting practices (e.g., nonprofit, construction, manufacturing).
