Role Overview
The Senior Accountant / Finance Operations Analyst (Offshore) will support Dream's day-to-day finance operations in a hands-on capacity, including corporate accounting, budget and forecast preparation, financial reporting, audit readiness, and internal controls. This role will lead financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis to support company growth while maintaining capital discipline, from a preparation and execution standpoint, with final approval and decision-making remaining with the onshore Finance Manager / Controller.
The role will work closely with the onshore Head of Finance to support financial strategy, cash discipline, investor reporting, and helping prepare the company for scale and future fundraising (Series C and beyond). The position is designed as an offshore role with read-only access to bank accounts and no authority to initiate, approve, or release payments.
Assist the CEO with financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis to support company growth while maintaining capital discipline.
Support the Finance Manager / Controller to develop and execute financial strategies that support revenue growth, gross margin expansion, and cash runway by building and maintaining detailed financial models and analyses.
Prepare materials and analysis to support board/investor reporting, risk management, and business performance, working closely with the onshore Finance Manager / Controller.
Analyze financial performance, variances, and key metrics, providing actionable insights to leadership through models, reports, and dashboards.
Accounting, Month-End Close & Financial Reporting
Oversee and manage the full month-end close process from an execution standpoint, ensuring all journal entries, reconciliations, and consolidations are prepared accurately and on time (final review and sign-off by onshore Finance Manager / Controller).
Maintain the integrity of the general ledger and subledgers through accurate preparation, reconciliations, and documentation.
Deliver monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP (IFRS experience is an asset) by preparing draft financial statements and supporting schedules for onshore review and approval.
Analyze financial performance, variances, and key metrics, providing actionable insights to leadership via well-structured reporting packages and analysis.
Manage and continuously improve close calendars, checklists, and internal month-end processes in coordination with the onshore Finance Manager / Controller.
Ensure compliance with all financial regulatory requirements, tax filings, and financial audits from a preparation and documentation standpoint (onshore retains formal sign-off and regulator/auditor-facing responsibility).
Maintain and enhance internal controls, policies, and procedures by documenting and testing controls, maintaining SOPs, and supporting onshore-led control improvements.
Manage external relationships with auditors, tax advisors, banks, and other financial partners from a support perspective (e.g., providing data, schedules, and documentation; formal relationship ownership stays onshore).
Team & Process Support
Lead and mentor a lean and scalable finance and accounting team within the offshore function as it grows, under the direction of the onshore Finance Manager / Controller.
Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and operational excellence within the offshore finance operations team.
Cash & Treasury Management (Support Only)
Manage company cash flow, working capital, treasury operations, burn rate, and cash runway forecasts from a modelling and reporting perspective (preparation and analysis), with final cash and treasury decisions retained onshore.
Prepare analyses and reporting to support banking relationships, credit facilities, debt facilities, and capital calls, with the onshore Finance Manager / Controller owning external interactions and approvals.
