Job Description

The Senior Accountant with 8-10 years of experience will play a strategic role in overseeing financial reporting, auditing, compliance, and budgeting. This individual will contribute to the financial stability of the organization by ensuring accurate and timely accounting processes while also leading teams and mentoring junior staff. The Senior Accountant will work closely with the Accounting Manager, Controller, or CFO, and may have supervisory responsibilities over other accounting staff.

Key Responsibilities

:

Advanced Financial Reporting

: Prepare, review, and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring compliance with IFRS/GAAP standards and internal policies. Lead the preparation of financial reports for management, external audits, tax filings, and regulatory bodies. Provide analysis of financial trends, variances, and key performance indicators (KPIs) to senior management.

General Ledger and Transaction Oversight

: Lead and oversee the management of the general ledger, ensuring the integrity of financial transactions and that all entries are accurate and timely. Perform and oversee account reconciliations, ensuring all discrepancies are identified and resolved promptly. Handle complex or unusual journal entries and transactions, particularly in areas such as accruals, adjustments, and intercompany reconciliations.

Budgeting and Forecasting

: Coordinate and assist in the preparation of annual budgets and quarterly forecasts. Provide detailed financial analysis to support budgeting, forecasting, and strategic decision-making. Conduct variance analysis between actuals and projections, and communicate findings to senior management.

Internal Controls and Compliance

: Ensure the company's accounting practices comply with all relevant laws, regulations, and accounting standards. Review and enhance internal controls and accounting processes to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data. Support the external audit process, preparing schedules and reports as needed, and addressing auditor inquiries.

Mentorship and Team Leadership

: Lead, mentor, and supervise junior accounting staff, providing guidance on complex accounting issues and ensuring professional development. Conduct performance reviews, assist with recruitment, and ensure a collaborative and efficient team environment. Provide training on accounting best practices, software tools, and procedures.

Financial Analysis and Strategic Insights

: Provide actionable financial insights to senior management, identifying cost-saving opportunities, risk factors, and potential areas of improvement. Assist with the analysis of business performance and recommend strategies for improving profitability and financial health.

Process Improvement and Automation

: Drive initiatives to improve the efficiency of accounting processes, including automation of manual tasks or implementation of new software systems. Develop and implement best practices for accounting functions, ensuring consistency and accuracy in financial reporting.

Ad Hoc Projects

: Take ownership of special accounting projects, such as system upgrades, mergers and acquisitions, or process reengineering. Provide financial support and analysis for any business initiatives requiring a financial perspective.

Qualifications

:

Education

: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA, CMA, or other relevant certifications are highly preferred.

Experience

: 8-10 years of progressive experience in accounting or finance roles, with significant exposure to financial reporting, general ledger management, and compliance. Proven experience leading and mentoring accounting teams. In-depth knowledge of accounting standards, financial reporting, and regulatory requirements.

Skills

: Expertise in accounting software (QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle, or similar systems) and proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced functions, pivot tables, etc.). Strong analytical and financial modeling skills. In-depth understanding of financial regulations and accounting standards (GAAP, IFRS). Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present financial information to non-financial stakeholders. Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.

Leadership

: Demonstrated leadership experience, including managing teams, driving change, and managing complex projects. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines while ensuring the quality of work.

Work Environment

:

This role is well-suited for a senior-level accountant with extensive experience in complex financial environments, capable of managing both the technical and leadership aspects of accounting. The Senior Accountant will contribute to the financial health of the organization and play a critical role in achieving business goals.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ?50,000.00 - ?70,000.00 per month
