Job Summary:
We are seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Accountant to join our team. The primary responsibility of this role is to handle GST filing and manage in/out transaction entries accurately and efficiently. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of Indian taxation laws, particularly GST regulations, and be proficient in accounting software. Attention to detail and the ability to maintain confidentiality are essential for this role.
Responsibilities:
Manage all aspects of GST filing, including preparation, verification, and submission of GST returns within the stipulated deadlines.
Ensure compliance with GST regulations and stay updated on any changes in tax laws that may affect filing procedures.
Maintain accurate records of all transactions, including sales, purchases, expenses, and receipts, ensuring adherence to accounting standards.
Reconcile GST input and output taxes to ensure accuracy and identify any discrepancies for correction.
Handle in/out transaction entries, including recording invoices, bills, payments, and receipts promptly and accurately.
Collaborate with internal teams to gather necessary information for GST filing and resolve any queries related to transactions.
Assist in the preparation of financial reports, including balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and cash flow statements.
Support external audits by providing relevant documentation and explanations for GST filings and transaction entries.
Conduct periodic reviews of accounting procedures and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Maintain confidentiality of financial information and exercise discretion in handling sensitive data.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Proven experience as an Accountant, with a focus on GST filing and transaction entries, preferably in an Indian context.
In-depth knowledge of Indian taxation laws, particularly GST regulations, and familiarity with accounting principles and practices.
Proficiency in accounting software such as Tally ERP, QuickBooks, or similar platforms.
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to identify and resolve discrepancies.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines while maintaining accuracy and quality of work.
High level of integrity and commitment to maintaining confidentiality of financial information.
Professional certification such as CA, CMA, or equivalent will be an added advantage.
Flexibility to adapt to changing regulations and business requirements.
