KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform comprehensive manual and automated accessibility audits and assessments of our digital products, websites, and applications, identifying potential barriers and suggesting improvements to meet relevant accessibility standards.
  • Review design files (e.g., Figma, Adobe XD) to identify accessibility issues before development.
  • Develop and implement accessibility policies and guidelines, staying up to date with the latest accessibility regulations (e.g. WCAG, ADA, EU Accessibility Act) and industry best practices.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including other accessibility specialists, developers, designers, content creators, and product managers, to ensure accessibility considerations are integrated into the development lifecycle from the early stages.
  • Monitor and assess ongoing compliance with accessibility standards and regulations, recommending actions to address any non-compliance issues.
  • Champion the importance of accessibility internally and externally, advocating for accessibility as an integral part of our organization's values and mission.
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED (MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS):
Qualification:
  • A bachelor's degree in business, Technology, Human-Computer Interaction
Work Experience:
  • 3+ years of experience in implementing tools, processes, and procedures to enforce web and mobile application accessibility standards.
Technical competency:
  • In-depth knowledge of accessibility guidelines (WCAG, ADA, Section 508) and assistive technologies (Screen Reader Testing and Keyboard Navigation Test, JAWS, NVDA, AXE, WAV or any similar tools) used by individuals with disabilities.
  • Proven experience in conducting accessibility audits, creating remediation plans, and implementing accessibility standards in various digital environments.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex accessibility concepts to diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and foster an inclusive and supportive work environment. Work with UX designers, developers, QA testers, and product managers.
  • Strong problem-solving skills to identify and address accessibility challenges in creative and efficient ways.
  • A genuine passion for advocating for users with disabilities and a user-centric approach to accessibility solutions.
  • Inclusive Design Principles: Ability to design for visual, auditory, motor, and cognitive disabilities.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Maintain clear records of accessibility issues and remediation steps.
  • Legal & Regulatory Knowledge: ADA, Section 508, AODA, and other regional laws. [ada.gov]

WHAT WILL GIVE YOU A COMPETITIVE EDGE (PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS):
  • Previous retail and e-commerce experience is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with design systems and accessible component libraries.
  • Experience with HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
  • Experience with Agile Methodologies.
  • Familiarity with tools such as QTest and Agility.
  • IAAP CPACC or WAS certification.
  • Experience with automated accessibility testing frameworks.
  • Knowledge of airline industry digital platforms and customer experience requirements.
