Job Description

The Senior Academic Counsellor is responsible for guiding students through the entire process of studying abroad -- from career planning and university selection to application, visa processing, and pre-departure preparation. This role requires an in-depth understanding of global education systems, excellent counselling skills, and leadership qualities to mentor junior counsellors and ensure service excellence.

Key Responsibilities



Student Counselling & Guidance

Conduct one-on-one counselling sessions to understand students' academic backgrounds, career goals, and financial capacity.

Provide expert advice on study destinations, universities, programs, eligibility, and admission requirements.

Assist students in preparing strong applications, SOPs, and supporting documents.

Guide students through the visa process, financial documentation, and interview preparation.

Conduct pre-departure orientations and ensure a smooth transition for students.

Client Relationship Management



Build and maintain relationships with students, parents, and partner institutions.

Respond promptly to student inquiries and follow up through multiple communication channels (email, phone, WhatsApp, CRM).

Maintain accurate student records and application status updates in the CRM system.

Business Development & Team Support



Achieve monthly/quarterly enrolment and conversion targets.

Support marketing activities such as seminars, university fairs, and webinars.

Mentor and train junior counsellors; ensure counselling quality and adherence to process standards.

Coordinate with university representatives for latest updates, scholarship opportunities, and training sessions.

Compliance & Documentation



Ensure all counselling, application, and visa processes comply with institutional and visa regulations.

Keep updated with the latest education, immigration, and scholarship policies across major destinations (UK, USA, Canada, Australia, Europe, etc.).

Required Qualifications & Skills



Bachelor's or Master's degree in Education, Psychology, International Business, or related field.

5+ years of experience in academic counselling, preferably with a study abroad consultancy.

Strong knowledge of international education systems, admission processes, and visa guidelines.

Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.

Proficiency in CRM systems and Microsoft Office Suite.

Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.

A proactive, empathetic, and student-centric approach.

Preferred Attributes



Experience counselling for multiple destinations.

Prior exposure to student recruitment or partnerships with foreign universities.

Certification or training in counselling or international education (e.g., ICEF, British Council, etc.).

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)



Number of successful student conversions and enrolments.

Student satisfaction and feedback ratings.

Accuracy and timeliness of application processing.

Team support and leadership effectiveness.

Pay: ?15,000.00 - ?30,000.00 per month
