This role requires exceptional leadership, strategic thinking, and in-depth knowledge of international education systems, visa regulations, and university admission processes. The Sr Counsellor ensures operational excellence, drives performance targets, and upholds the organization's commitment to delivering outstanding student experiences from counselling to enrolment.
Key Responsibilities
1. Student Counselling & Guidance
Provide personalized and goal-oriented counselling to students based on their academic background, career aspirations, financial plans, and preferred destinations.
Guide students in selecting appropriate universities, programs, and intakes aligned with their long-term career objectives.
Deliver transparent, ethical, and informed guidance about admission requirements, course structures, and eligibility criteria.
Maintain a supportive, empathetic, and professional approach to ensure a positive student experience throughout the counselling journey.
2. Team Leadership & Development
Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of counsellors to achieve individual and collective performance goals.
Conduct regular training and knowledge-sharing sessions to strengthen team expertise, communication skills, and compliance standards.
Monitor counsellor productivity, provide constructive feedback, and implement corrective strategies to enhance conversion rates and service quality.
Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the team.
3. Target Achievement & Performance Tracking
Strategically plan and execute initiatives to consistently meet or exceed registration and conversion targets.
Formulate short-term and long-term enrolment strategies to achieve daily, weekly, and monthly business objectives.
Maximize enrolments through creative approaches including virtual counselling, education expos, and promotional events.
4. Communication, Calls & Follow-ups
Ensure a minimum of 50 connected calls per day to maintain an active and engaging student pipeline.
Supervise team follow-ups to guarantee timely responses to all leads and enquiries.
Develop structured engagement systems to strengthen relationships, sustain interest, and minimize drop-offs during the counselling process.
5. Lead Generation & Business Growth
Initiate and oversee innovative campaigns to generate high-quality student leads.
Conduct awareness programs, school/college seminars, and webinars to enhance brand visibility and outreach.
Build and maintain partnerships with educational institutions and key stakeholders to support business expansion.
Collaborate closely with the marketing and business development teams to align lead generation strategies with branch goals.
6. Reporting & Documentation
Maintain comprehensive and accurate student records, lead data, and performance reports using CRM systems.
Review and verify reports to ensure completeness, accuracy, and timely submission.
Safeguard all student data and documentation in accordance with institutional and data protection policies.
7. Research & Market Intelligence
Stay updated on global education trends, visa regulations, scholarships, and policy changes.
Research emerging study destinations, programs, and intakes to expand the organization's offerings.
Share insights and updates regularly with the team to strengthen information accuracy and service quality.
8. Participation & Branch Collaboration
Actively represent the organization in education fairs, webinars, and delegate meetings.
Support team members during peak admission periods to ensure smooth operations.
Collaborate with documentation, marketing, and operations teams for seamless student processing and workflow efficiency.
9. Strategy Meetings & Operational Alignment
Participate in daily, weekly, and monthly strategy meetings with management and branch heads.
Conduct team briefings to assign targets, review progress, and address operational challenges.
Implement management directives effectively and contribute ideas for continuous process enhancement.
10. Walk-ins, Virtual Counselling & Outreach
Ensure consistent engagement to generate 10-20 qualified walk-ins per month.
Deliver equal excellence in both face-to-face and virtual counselling sessions.
Coach counsellors to effectively convert walk-ins and online leads into successful admissions.
11. Branch Visits & Lead Management
Conduct regular visits to schools, academies, and partner branches to build strong institutional relationships.
Supervise the lead management system to ensure each enquiry is tracked, followed up, and updated in CRM.
Evaluate lead conversion data and identify key areas for improvement.
Qualifications / Requirements
A bachelor's degree in education, international relations, business, or a related field.
Experience in counseling or student services, especially in the context of international education.
(Min 2- 5 years) preferred
