Job Description

he Senior AC Technician is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and efficient operation of all air conditioning, refrigeration, and ventilation systems in the hotel. This role ensures guest comfort, equipment reliability, and energy efficiency through regular inspections and prompt resolution of HVAC-related issues. The technician also supervises junior staff and ensures compliance with safety and operational standards.

Maintenance & Repairs



Install, maintain, and repair all HVAC systems including split units, VRF/VRV systems, chillers, air handling units (AHUs), fan coil units (FCUs), exhaust fans, and cooling towers. Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults in HVAC systems. Replace or repair defective parts such as compressors, motors, filters, thermostats, and control valves. Ensure timely preventive maintenance as per schedule.

System Monitoring & Troubleshooting



Monitor performance of HVAC systems to ensure energy-efficient operation. Respond promptly to maintenance requests or HVAC complaints from guests and staff. Conduct routine inspections to identify and rectify potential issues before they lead to system failures.

Compliance & Documentation



Ensure HVAC systems meet all hotel, safety, health, and environmental standards. Maintain accurate records of repairs, service logs, parts inventory, and maintenance schedules. Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with relevant codes, standards, and hotel policies.

Supervision & Training



Provide technical guidance and supervision to junior technicians or contractors. Assist in training engineering staff on HVAC maintenance procedures and safety practices. Coordinate with vendors and service providers when external expertise is required.

Energy Management



Support energy-saving initiatives by recommending and implementing improvements in HVAC systems. Monitor refrigerant usage and ensure proper handling and disposal according to regulations.

Qualifications:



Diploma or ITI in Air Conditioning, Refrigeration, or Mechanical Engineering. Minimum 3 years of hands-on HVAC experience, preferably in the hotel or hospitality industry. Strong knowledge of HVAC systems including chillers, BMS integration, and modern energy-efficient technologies. Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and HVAC blueprints. Basic electrical knowledge and troubleshooting skills. Familiarity with local safety, health, and refrigerant handling regulations.

Desirable Attributes:



EPA/Universal Refrigerant Certification (or equivalent based on region). Strong problem-solving ability and attention to detail. Ability to work independently and under pressure. Willingness to work in shifts, weekends, and be on-call as required. Good communication and teamwork skills.
