The Security Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day supervision of the security team and operations to ensure the safety and security of all guests, employees, hotel assets, and property. This role demands a proactive approach to risk prevention, emergency response, and maintaining a secure yet welcoming environment in a fast-paced airport hotel setting.
Key Responsibilities
1. Team Leadership & Supervision:
Supervise, schedule, and guide security officers on daily shifts.
Conduct briefings and training sessions on standard operating procedures, emergency protocols, and customer service.
Monitor team performance, conduct evaluations, and recommend disciplinary or commendatory actions.
2. Security Operations:
Oversee 24/7 security coverage of the entire property: lobby, guest floors, back-of-house, parking lots (including airport parking), and perimeter.
Conduct regular patrols (foot and vehicle) to detect and deter security breaches, safety hazards, or suspicious activities.
Monitor CCTV systems, alarm panels, and access control systems.
Ensure strict adherence to key control procedures for guest rooms and restricted areas.
Manage and document lost & found property.
3. Guest & Employee Safety:
Respond promptly and professionally to all security incidents, guest complaints, or emergency situations (medical, fire, theft, trespassing).
Investigate and compile detailed reports on accidents, incidents, or losses.
Liaise with guests and staff to address security concerns discreetly and effectively.
Implement crowd control measures during events, conferences, or peak check-in/out times common to an airport hotel.
4. Access Control & Surveillance:
Enforce access control policies for staff, contractors, and visitors in back-of-house areas.
Supervise vehicle traffic flow and parking, ensuring VIP and guest vehicle security.
Coordinate with front office for smooth arrival/departure of VIPs, airline crews, and transit guests.
5. Emergency Preparedness & Compliance:
Act as a first responder and lead initial emergency response (fire, earthquake, bomb threat, etc.) until senior management/emergency services arrive.
Ensure all fire-fighting equipment, first aid kits, and emergency exits are regularly inspected and functional.
Maintain knowledge of and ensure compliance with local laws and hotel policies.
Keep all security logs, reports, and checklists updated and accurate.
6. Coordination & Liaison:
Work closely with all departments, especially Front Office, Housekeeping, and Engineering.
Maintain a professional working relationship with local law enforcement, fire departments, and airport security authorities.
Assist in security arrangements for hotel events and banquets.
