You'll be joining our Worldwide Airports team in Mumbai, India in a critical department that ensures the safety and security of our operations across one of our most important international markets. As part of our Operations job family, this department plays a vital role in maintaining British Airways' reputation for safety excellence while ensuring seamless security compliance with both international regulations and local legislation at Mumbai Airport.
What you'll do:
Effectively and efficiently manage British Airways security policy and procedures at Mumbai ensuring delivery to international regulations and local legislation. Coordinate regarding security processes, procedures related to British Airways aircraft, people, property and customers against any security threat or potential threat. Monitor Local Service Level agreement with Security Service Provider at all times.
Ensure compliance with all requirements prescribed by British Airways security, Bureau of Civil Aviation Security and other government agencies. Manage delivery of operation to Airline Security Program and compliance with Quality Control Program. Be the focal point of liaison and communication with internal and external agencies and act as a Senior Reporting Official on station in time of an emergency and ensure key liaison with all operational areas on day-to-day issues.
Monitor performance and coordinate with Security Service Provider regarding aircraft security, access control, passenger acceptance, catering, hold baggage acceptance, passenger and cabin bag screening, crew security and other security procedures. Implement airline security programme and airline quality control programme meticulously.
Conduct surprise checks to test the alertness and efficacy of the security staff of security service provider and submit report to Airport Manager, Chief Security Officer, Customer Service Manager
What you'll bring to British Airways:
You have a proactive approach with a strong team player mentality, demonstrating keen observation abilities with alertness and vigilance. We're looking for someone with a responsible and trustworthy character who possesses logical thinking and quick-learning capabilities, able to work under minimal supervision within defined guidelines. You'll be PC literate with knowledge of Word/Excel applications and able to present information clearly and precisely.
As the new Security Coordinator based in Mumbai you will demonstrate excellent knowledge of procedures for acceptance of dangerous goods and local emergency evacuation procedures.
The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to work under pressure in a busy environment with flexibility to work day or night shifts. You'll also have the ability to create and maintain local manuals, as well as the capability to monitor, coordinate and train Security Service Provider, BA & GHA teams in Airline Security Procedures.
Your experience:
Basic AVSEC certification (DESIRABLE)
Graduate qualification
Energetic and professional approach
Fluent in written and spoken English (REQUIRED)
