Summary: As a Malware Specialist specializing in Android Malware Reverse Engineering, you will be responsible for leading a team in the in-depth analysis of Android applications to identify data exfiltration, malware, and security breaches. You will guide your team through daily activities involving both Static Application Security Testing SAST and Dynamic Application Security Testing DAST, ensuring detailed documentation of all findings. You will also be responsible for mentoring team members and contributing to strategic initiatives. Roles & Responsibilities: o Lead and mentor a team of mobile security analysts in proactively identifying and flagging malicious code and security threats within Android applications. o Oversee the analysis of emerging threats and ensure effective response to security incidents and escalations. o Drive initiatives to proactively identify new malware trends, spam, and other abuse vectors on the Android platform. o Provide proactive inputs and innovative ideas to enhance team workflows, efficiency, and overall security posture. o Possess and apply the ability to proficiently review applications and SDKs through analysis, unpacking, and reverse engineering of software that may compromise user privacy, and guide team members in these techniques. o Demonstrate and impart a deep understanding of techniques utilized by malicious software to tamper with user machines and hinder removal efforts. o Review and approve comprehensive reports detailing analysis findings and recommended remediations. o Collaborate with threat detection and signature engineering teams to translate reverse engineering insights into robust detection logic by mapping malware behaviors to the MITRE ATT&CK framework and developing corresponding YARA rules and network signatures. o Ability to independently review and resolve complex escalations from internal and external sources, collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams and guiding team members in similar situations. Professional & Technical Skills: o A strong background in Application Security, Security Auditing, or a prior role focused specifically on Android malware analysis. o A solid understanding of the Android threat landscape and Potentially Harmful Application PHA classifications is highly desirable. o Deep understanding of the Android OS, application lifecycle, and Dalvik bytecode smali. Must have strong proficiency in reading source code in Java and Kotlin. o Exposure to JavaScript, Flutter & Query languages such as SQL o Experience with scripting languages Python, Bash. o Expert in reading and analyzing ARM or x86 assembly language to dissect native libraries ELF files and identify malicious functionality. o Proven ability to manually de-obfuscate code, analyze complex algorithms, and reverse-engineer proprietary network protocols to determine the full intent and capability of a threat. o Demonstrated ability to independently solve complex technical challenges and analyze novel or undocumented malware techniques. o Hands-on mastery of industry-standard tools like IDA Pro and Ghidra, including the ability to write scripts IDAPython, GhidraScript to enhance analysis. o Advanced experience with dynamic analysis tools, particularly Frida, for runtime manipulation, hooking, and tracing application behavior. o Proficiency with static analysis tools like Jadx JEB and network traffic analysis tools like Burp Suite or Wireshark. Additional Information: o B.Tech, M.Tech, MCA, or B.Sc. in Computer Science or a related field. A 15-year full time education is required o The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 7+ years of experience in Android Malware reversing experience. o Location Hyderabad or Bangalore
