Position Overview: The IT Security Analyst will lead efforts ensuring compliance with HIPAA, NIST (and other security frameworks), FISMA, FedRAMP, and other regulations and best practices. The Security Analyst will work independently to understand security needs and develop/support security solutions. The Security Analyst will assist, consult, train and mentor other NOC team members and Support Team staff and provide direct technical guidance with tasks as necessary. Other responsibilities include facilitating customer meetings and periodically facilitating security training sessions for staff and customers. . Responsibilities:
  • Security Monitoring:
    • Continuously monitor and analyze security alerts from various sources.
    • Investigate and respond to security incidents and vulnerabilities.
  • Risk Assessment:
    • Conduct risk assessments to identify and evaluate potential security threats and vulnerabilities.
    • Develop strategies to mitigate identified risks.
  • Security Policies and Procedures:
    • Develop and enforce security policies and procedures.
    • Ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards.
  • Incident Response:
    • Develop and implement incident response plans.
    • Coordinate with other IT professionals to address and mitigate security incidents.
  • Vulnerability Management:
    • Identify and assess vulnerabilities in the organization\'s systems.
    • Implement and manage vulnerability management programs.
  • Security Awareness:
    • Educate and train employees on security best practices.
    • Promote a security-conscious culture within the organization.
  • Network Security:
    • Implement and manage firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and other network security measures.
    • Conduct regular security assessments on network infrastructure.
  • Endpoint Security:
    • Ensure the security of end-user devices (computers, mobile devices) through the implementation of security measures such as antivirus software and encryption.
  • Security Audits:
    • Conduct regular security audits to assess the effectiveness of security controls.
    • Provide recommendations for improvements based on audit findings.
  • Security Research:
    • Stay informed about the latest security threats, vulnerabilities, and technologies.
    • Conduct research to identify emerging security trends.
  • Collaboration:
    • Collaborate with IT teams and other departments to implement and maintain security measures.
    • Work closely with incident response teams and law enforcement during security incidents.
  • Documentation:
    • Create/Maintain documentation related to security policies, procedures, and incident response plans.
    • Create reports on security metrics and incidents for management.
Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree and 4 years of experience or equivalent professional experience. Prefer degree concentration in: Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Technical Writing or Business.
  • MCSD or MCPD certification will be highly advantageous.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills (both oral and written).
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of individuals and constituencies in a diverse community.
  • Prefer understanding and background with Intrusion Detection Systems and SIEM products.
  • Prefer background in Incident Response.
  • Prefer understanding and background with Firewalls and Networking.
  • Knowledge and understanding of application security.
  • Knowledge and/or experience in evaluation of security setup to meet business needs.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Ability to present and explain complex technical topics, problems, alternative solutions to others.
  • Interpreting Vulnerability Assessments.
