We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Production Manager to lead the operational heartbeat of our new Lithium-Ion Battery Recycling plant in Mundra. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on leader with a strong background in chemical process industries or metal recycling, specifically in managing complex, high-volume production environments. You will be responsible for ensuring the plant operates safely, efficiently, and profitably, meeting all production targets and quality standards.

1. Production & Operations Management:

Oversee the entire production process, from receipt of spent Li-ion batteries to the output of black mass and recovered metals (Copper, Aluminium, Cobalt, Lithium, etc.). Develop and achieve production schedules, volume, and quality targets. Optimize plant operations to maximize yield, minimize downtime, and reduce operating costs. Ensure strict adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all processes, including discharging, dismantling, mechanical separation, and black mass extraction operations.

2. Safety, Health & Environment (SHE):

Champion a zero-compromise safety culture. Ensure 100% compliance with all HSE guidelines, statutory regulations, and permit conditions. Lead the implementation and continuous improvement of HAZOP (Hazard and Operability Study) and JSA (Job Safety Analysis). Manage safe handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous materials as per CPCB/GPCB norms. Conduct regular safety audits, risk assessments, and emergency drill simulations. Ensure all environmental protocols for air emissions, effluent discharge, and solid waste management are strictly followed.

3. Team Leadership & Development:

Lead, mentor, and manage a team of shift supervisors, engineers, technicians, and operators. Foster a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and high performance. Identify training needs and ensure the team is adequately skilled in operational and safety procedures. Manage staffing schedules, performance appraisals, and conflict resolution.

4. Quality & Process Improvement:

Work closely with the Quality Assurance (QA) team to ensure the final product (e.g., black mass) meets or exceeds customer specifications. Drive initiatives for process optimization, waste reduction, and yield improvement using Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles. Analyze production data to identify trends, bottlenecks, and opportunities for enhancement.

5. Maintenance & Inventory Coordination:

Collaborate with the Maintenance department to plan and execute preventive and breakdown maintenance, minimizing production disruption. Manage production inventory, including raw materials (spent batteries), consumables, and finished goods.

6. Reporting & Compliance:

Prepare and present daily, weekly, and monthly production reports to the Plant Head/Management. Ensure all production-related documentation is maintained accurately and is audit-ready.

Qualification & Experience

:

Essential: B.Tech. / B.E. in Chemical Engineering / Mechanical Engineering / Metallurgical Engineering. 7 to 10 years of proven experience in a production management role within a chemical process plant, metal recycling unit, or battery recycling facility. Direct experience in Lithium-Ion Battery recycling processes will be a significant advantage.

Skills & Competencies

Technical Knowledge:

In-depth understanding of Li-ion battery chemistry, mechanical and hydrometallurgical recycling processes, and associated equipment.

Safety Focus:

Demonstrable expertise in implementing and managing robust EHS systems in a hazardous industrial environment.

Leadership:

Strong people management skills with the ability to lead and inspire a large, multi-shift team.

Problem-Solving:

Excellent analytical and root-cause analysis skills to troubleshoot operational issues effectively.

Communication:

Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to liaise with all levels of management and regulatory bodies.

Results-Oriented:

A data-driven approach with a strong focus on achieving Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) related to OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness), Yield, Cost, and Quality.
