Description
Experience

• 15 to 20 years of total experience in handling Electrical Design activities.
• Of the above, at least 5 years as Lead Electrical Engineer in Data Center projects; and at least 2 years as Data Centre SME.
• Experience with at least one job with 100 MVA or more power requirement.

Educational qualification
B.E. / B.Tech in Electrical Engineering with First Class
Core Strengths

• Prepare / review Basis of Design, Data Center Master Plan, Concept, Schematics.
• Should have fair understanding on Telecommunications Industry Association TIA-942-B Standard for Data Centers.
• Hands on experience of Indian and International codes for the design.
• Interdisciplinary coordination

Role / Job description

• As Data Center Subject Matter Expert (SME), candidate should possess following as a minimum:

• Engages in all engineering management activities assigned. Coordination with various stake holders like Client / various internal disciplines like Projects / Piping / Mechanical / Architect / Civil / Vendors for effective engineering management.
• Performs all functions as a de-facto manager for the Data Center Sector.
• Mentors, trains & encourages resources within the Team assigned to achieve desired project objectives.
• Takes initiatives for successful delivery of services of Data Center projects and operates with minimum guidance.
• Participates and represents Jacobs in all Client facing and critical meetings to provide solutions to meet project objectives.
• Shall drive and ensure that Data Center Leads performs the following responsibilities of Data Center projects:

• Prepare scope of work and work efforts estimation
• Monitor and Control Project schedule of the assigned group of Data Center Projects.
• Monitor and control Productivity of the assigned group of Data Center Projects.
• Adherence to Department Work Instruction and QMS Manual
• Responsible for the performance of DC Teams assigned.
• Ensure effective communications with all stakeholders.
• Sharing the Knowledge with team Members and upgrading Data Center Database, whilst taking care of Non-Disclosure Agreement for ongoing and completed DC projects.
• Detail Engineering through Data Center Lead engineers including:

• Load list and load balancing in case of power failure at one source to maintain redundancy.
• Review of SLD for optimization of Power distribution, optimization of Equipment Layout while meeting NBC/CEIG/Electricity Rules.
• Review of design drawings and calculations for optimization.
• Responsibility of timely completion of designs, requisitions and engineering deliverables.
• Review of System studies ETAP-LF/SC/Arc-Flash/Harmonics.
• Knowledge of Relay settings is added advantage.
• Inspection of specialized electrical equipment, if required.
• Tender document and BOQs review for value added inputs to have minimum quantity variations during erection.
• Must be able to apply critical thinking and provide creative solutions to any design or site issues. Ensure competent staff are available for site trouble shooting as necessary.
• Meet client expectations and maintain long-term relationship with client. Attend to clients feedback and any complaints. Ensure that site issues viz. Technical Queries, Non-conformity Notices are dealt effectively and expeditiously.

Skills

• Self-driven with good management & reporting capabilities.
• Understanding on Telecommunications Industry Association TIA-942-B Standard for Data Centers.
• Knowledge of 3D engineering, proficiency in review of 3D models using Navisworks is mandatory.
• Knowledge of Electrical codes and standards is mandatory.
• Knowledge of IS / IEC standards.
• EHV Design knowledge is an added advantage.

Software Competency

• Application of 3D review software like Navisworks
• Application of other supporting software like Bluebeam, Adobe Acrobat.
• Competent user of MS Office 365: Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint

Language Competency

• Good English written and verbal skills is essential & ability to interact / coordinate in a global environment as required.
