Job Summary:

The Seam Welder is responsible for operating seam welding machines to join metal parts along a continuous seam or joint. This role requires precision, attention to detail, and an understanding of welding procedures to ensure consistent weld quality and adherence to safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Operate seam welding machines to join sheet metal or components according to blueprints, specifications, or work orders. Set up welding machines by adjusting welding pressure, timing, and electrode positioning based on the type and thickness of material. Inspect materials before and after welding to ensure alignment, proper weld penetration, and absence of defects. Perform basic maintenance on welding machines, such as cleaning electrodes and replacing worn parts. Monitor the welding process and make real-time adjustments to optimize performance and output quality. Maintain accurate records of work completed, machine settings, and any issues encountered. Follow all safety guidelines and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE). Collaborate with quality control, engineering, and maintenance teams as necessary. Keep the work area clean and organized to promote efficiency and safety.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training in welding or metal fabrication preferred. Previous experience operating seam welding machines or other automated welding equipment is highly desirable. Knowledge of welding techniques, materials, and machine operations. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and welding symbols. Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity. Ability to lift and move materials up to [insert weight, e.g., 50 lbs] as required. Willingness to work shifts, overtime, or weekends as needed.

Work Environment:

Manufacturing or fabrication shop setting. Exposure to heat, noise, welding fumes, and metal dust. Requires wearing of safety gear including welding helmet, gloves, and steel-toed boots.

Opportunities for Advancement:

With experience and additional training, Seam Welders may progress to roles such as Welding Technician, Lead Welder, Fabrication Supervisor, or Quality Control Inspector.

Pay: ₹180,000.00 - ₹250,000.00 per year
