The incumbent will be responsible for the overall design and engineering for wet seal auxiliary systems submittal documents.
Specification review, selection, sizing, calculations, P&ID, system description and clean order input and hand off to design engineering team.
Review and sign off engineering documents for proposals, orders, calculations, bill of materials and fabrication, including Custom Engineered Systems with RISK with transmittal.
Support internal and externalcustomers on technical clarifications, Smart quoting and be \xe2\x80\x9cCustomer Centric\xe2\x80\x9d and demonstrate a \xe2\x80\x9cCan Do\xe2\x80\x9d approach to gain customer confidence.
Provide detailed Root causes analysis and lessons learnt with suitable corrective actions and holistic solutions and consolidate as White Papers and participate in Symposiums and Seminars to present the same.
Coordinate with overseas Business Units and Singapore hub to align with seals & system global strategies to develop SCOE engineering to adopt engineering best practices complying with global standards.
Support talent development and planning for the team\xe2\x80\x99s capabilities and their career progression, including competency evaluation, enhancement and training plans every year.
Drive Standardization projects and initiatives to improve the overall productivity and reduce cycle time of engineering.
This position will be based out of the \xe2\x80\x9cSystems Centre of Excellence\xe2\x80\x9d in Coimbatore and report to the Regional Supervisor for Southeast Asia based in Singapore.
Responsibilities and Requirements:
Review order input data, take ownership for the auxiliary systems design, sizing and selection for orders and proposals.
Specification review, selection, sizing, calculations, P&ID, system description and clean order input and hand off to design engineering team.
Take ownership for engineering and submittal documents as below. ( i). Project hand off ,( ii). Specification and compliance and Exceptions log review (iii). Reference drawings search and calculations . (iv). Work instructions for design . (V). Instrument data sheets, Utilities consumption list, Alarm settings table, Logic diagram, control narrative, IOM and ITP for wet seal systems.
Provide support on product coding, basic engineering advice, reference proposal drawings and experience lists for specific applications.
Perform dimensional and design check on the output of system design engineering team and submittal documents for technical integrity and in line with seal design and associated heat load calculations.
Review revision requests and design changes and document lessons learnt to overcome internal errors and improve the Quality to achieve a good first pass yield.
Support Commercial operations and projects team to attend technical clarification meetings and smart quoting to strategically win projects with fit for purpose solutions.
Prepare and provide project plans in accordance with customer and contract requirements.
Coordinate with overseas Business Units and Singapore hub to align with seals & system global strategies to develop SCOE engineering to adopt engineering best practices complying with global standards.
Support talent development and planning for the team\xe2\x80\x99s capabilities and their career progression, including competency evaluation and enhancement.
Drive CI and corporate initiatives and projects to improve the overall productivity and reduce cycle time of engineering.
Maintain a daily log of activities and weekly reports of jobs processed for reporting manager review on a regular base.
Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
8 to 10 years working experience with mechanical seals & wet seal systems would be preferred.
Preferred Skills & Experience:
Knowledge in AutoCAD and design in preparing assembly and component drawings in 2D and 3D.
Familiar with Mechanical engineering design and ANSI / API standards.
Ability to read, analyze and interpret engineering specifications and drawings.
Review customer Specifications and prepare P&ID and detailed system description.
Knowledge in basic calculations for structural analysis, flow, orifice, heat load, pressure drop etc.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, distinguish between relevant and/or irrelevant contributing factors and draw valid conclusions.
Good communication skills (written and verbal) and strong self - motivation, willingness to learn.
