The Sea Export Pricing Executive is responsible for preparing competitive ocean freight quotations, managing carrier rate agreements, and supporting the sales team with timely and accurate pricing solutions. This role works closely with shipping lines, overseas agents, and internal departments to ensure profitability and customer satisfaction.
Prepare and submit sea export freight quotations (FCL/LCL) based on customer inquiries.
Analyze cost components--including ocean freight, surcharges, inland transportation, documentation fees, and destination charges--to build accurate pricing proposals.
Ensure quotes meet company margin requirements while remaining competitive in the market.
Maintain pricing tools, rate sheets, and internal databases.
2. Carrier & Vendor Coordination
Negotiate rates with shipping lines, NVOCCs, co-loaders, trucking companies, and other vendors.
Maintain good relationships with carriers to secure space, special rates, and service updates.
Review carrier contracts, validity periods, and service schedules.
3. Market & Industry Analysis
Monitor ocean freight market trends, rate fluctuations, GRIs, PSS, and other surcharges.
Gather competitor pricing and market intelligence to enhance competitiveness.
Provide internal teams with updates on rate changes or service disruptions.
4. Internal Collaboration
Support the sales team with timely and accurate pricing for RFQs, tenders, and spot inquiries.
Coordinate with operations to evaluate feasibility, special requirements, or routing options.
Ensure seamless communication between sales, operations, and overseas agents.
5. Documentation & Compliance
Ensure pricing aligns with carrier contracts, company policies, and customer requirements.
Keep accurate records of quotes, correspondence, and rate agreements.
Assist with tender documentation or customer-specific formats when required.
Skills & Qualifications Required
5 +Experience in freight forwarding, logistics, or shipping--preferably in sea export pricing.
Strong understanding of FCL/LCL operations, Incoterms, ocean freight surcharges, and shipping documentation.
Excellent negotiation, analysis, and communication skills.
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Proficiency in MS Excel and pricing tools.
