Job summary Advertising at Amazon is a fast-growing multi-billion dollar business that spans across desktop, mobile and connected devices; encompasses ads on Amazon and a vast network of hundreds of thousands of third party publishers; and extends across US, EU and an increasing number of international geographies. The Supply Quality Organization in Bangalore has the charter to build data-science focused products and engineer infrastructure for indexing and modulating the quality of supply in Amazon Advertising. We develop advanced algorithms and systems to optimize performance for our advertisers and publishers. We are focused on solving a wide variety of problems traffic quality prediction (robot and fraud detection), security forensics and research, viewability prediction, brand safety, content extraction and classification, and experimentation. Our team includes experts in the areas of software development, distributed computing, machine learning, statistics, optimization and big data systems. Supply Quality Production Services (SQPS)’s charter is to provide a real-time, streaming and offline processing infrastructure on which the SQ business algorithms (owned by SQ application teams) are executed to benefit advertisers. We aim to provide platform as a service (PaaS) for all SQ business needs by constantly evaluating their future initiatives and build solution abstracting the infrastructure concerns so that they can concentrate purely on implementing core business requirement. We build and maintain 1) highly available and fault tolerant real-time services and streaming solutions that participates during various stages of Ad processing 2) reliable, scalable and cost-effective data processing solutions and efficient disaster recovery with self-serve interfaces (APIs and UIs) hosted on multi-tenant infrastructure. The team ensures that the infrastructure is scalable to support business growth while keeping the cost low and has a mechanism for disaster recovery. We also fuel SQ application teams towards accelerated development cycles by providing testing tools and deployment solutions. We are looking for talented engineers who enjoy working on building large-scale systems and thrive in a fast-paced fun environment. As an engineer, you would design business critical systems, write high quality code, and deliver on multiple projects. You have deep knowledge of Java/C++, Object-oriented Design, Service Oriented Architecture and you are passionate about building massively scalable solutions and distributed systems.

• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related technical field
• Experience working with functional languages such as python, scala.
• Experience in working with various stakeholders such as Developers, PMs, TPMs, SDETs & QA's efficiently.
• Experience in working with big & distributed data problems, and solutions.
• Able to solve difficult software problems with some ambiguity.
• Able to dive into the source code of frameworks and libraries to debug, patch, and extend them when necessary.
• Understands how to be efficient with resource usage (e.g., application impact on memory and CPU, caches appropriately, respectful of customer’s devices, etc.).
