Join us as a Scrum Master (Technical) at Barclays, where you will be responsible for supporting the successful delivery of location strategy projects to plan, budget, agreed quality and governance standards. You will act as a servant leader and facilitator, ensuring Agile principles are embedded across technical and functional workflows. This role requires strong technical awareness of authentication systems and functional understanding of business priorities, while collaborating closely with Technical Delivery Managers who own the release process. The Scrum Master will enable team efficiency, remove impediments, and foster continuous improvement.


To be successful as Scrum Master (Technical) you should have experience with:

Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or Professional Scrum Master (PSM). Strong understanding of Agile frameworks and tools (Jira, Confluence). Technical awareness of authentication systems, APIs, and CI/CD pipelines. Excellent communication, facilitation, and conflict resolution skills. Understand authentication protocols (OAuth2, OpenID Connect, SAML) and security principles to guide discussions and remove blockers. Collaborate with Technical Delivery Managers for release readiness, ensuring sprint deliverables align with deployment timelines. Support integration testing and quality assurance by coordinating with SDETs and developers. Facilitate Scrum ceremonies (daily stand-ups, sprint planning, reviews, retrospectives) ensuring they are productive and time-boxed. Maintain backlog health in collaboration with Product Owner and Tech Leads. Represent the team in governance forums, providing updates on risks, dependencies, and progress.


Some other highly valued skills may include:

Prior experience in authentication or security-focused Agile teams. Familiarity with DevOps practices and release management coordination.

This role is based out of Pune.

Purpose of the role

Facilitates and supports Agile teams by ensuring they follow Scrum principles. To remove obstacles, enhance team collaboration, and ensure smooth communication, enabling the team to focus on delivering high-quality, iterative results. Facilitate Scrum events, promote continuous improvement, and act as a bridge between the team and external stakeholders.

Accountabilities

1.Facilitate Events: Facilitate events, as needed, and ensure that all events take place and are positive, productive, and kept within the timebox


2.Support Iteration Execution: Ensure quality of ceremony artefacts and continuous customer value through iteration execution, maintain backlog refinement, and iterate on stakeholder feedback


3.Optimize Flow: Identify and facilitate the removal of conflict impacting team flow, utilizing metrics to empower the team to communicate effectively, making all work visible


4.Mitigate Risks: Identify and escalate risks to remove impediments and shield the Squad from interruptions


5.Build High-Performing Teams: Foster and coach Agile Team attributes and continuous improvement, encourage stakeholder collaboration, deputise 'in the moment leadership', and drive high-performing team attributes


6.Stakeholder Management: Facilitate stakeholder collaboration (e.g., business stakeholders, product teams, vendors) and build trust with stakeholders


7.Governance and Reporting: Ensure data quality and provide representation at required governance forums, if applicable
