Department : Global Product & Technology ADP is hiring Scrum Masters
The ideal candidate will have good knowledge of Scrum and Agile to help support the team on their Agile journey. Although not essential, it is preferred that the successful candidate will have a understanding of technologies used in a software delivery organisation. The ideal candidate will have experience working with internal and external teams and also working with other technology teams and the business to ensure the team is able to deliver on their commitment unimpeded.

The Scrum Master position involves proactively organizing teams across products and formulating plans to drive high quality, go-to-market solutions, keeping the customer as the north star and using data points to measure product effectiveness – seeking to continually improve. The role provides leadership and governance for planning and team delivery communication.

What you will do:

  • Help the Product Owner to ensure that goals, scope, and product domain are understood by everyone on the Team
  • Helping the Team understand the need for clear and concise Product Backlog items
  • Ensuring the Product Owner knows how to arrange the Product Backlog to maximise value
  • Understanding and practising agility
  • Facilitating events as requested or needed
  • Coaching the Scrum Team in self-organisation and cross-functionality
  • Helping the team to create high-value products
  • Removing impediments to the Team’s progress
  • Coaching the Team in organisational environments in which Agile is not yet fully adopted and understood
  • Ensuring all Scrum ceremonies are scheduled and take place
  • Using data to help the team on their continuous improvement journey
  • Actively promote Agile throughout the organisation
  • Participate in Communities of Practice and promote collaborative work practices
  • Act as an Agile change agent
  • Highlighting risks and dependencies in a proactive manner, there by leading the team towards higher predictability
  • Accountable for getting Jira updated, to represent true picture of where the team is with respect to planning and execution.
Qualifications you’ll need:
  • Strong Facilitation prowess, particularly around conflict scenarios, to enable a team to move through conflict effectively so they can continue to progress. This is often about making sure all the team have a voice, not just the most senior members. Facilitation also goes hand in hand with negotiation.
  • Strong Coaching skills – This is about knowing not just what to do but also why and how too, so that the team can follow Agile practices properly,
  • Ability to encourage and demonstrate systems-thinking and lean-thinking to the scrum team
  • Agile and Scrum knowledge – To be able to coach others in Agile and Scrum the Scrum Master must have a good knowledge of both, this can be via formal learning on hands on experience. It also helps for a Scrum Master to have a base technical familiarity with the terms and processes undertaken by the Agile team to be an effective Servant-Leader.
Experience
  • Minimum of 18 months in ADP as part of a scrum team, out of which at least 6 months as a Scrum Master for 1 or more teams.
  • Experience coordinating and communicating change in a scaled agile environment
  • Proven examples of impediment removal and risk management
  • A strong understanding of Scrum and preferably other Agile techniques such as Kanban, LEAN, XP
Bonus points if you have these:
  • Experience in HR/payroll domain.
  • Knowledge in design tools and other software development tools
  • Ability to “think outside the box”
  • Certification in one or more of these: Scrum, Kanban, SAFe.
