Prepare the operating room by setting up sterile instruments, supplies, and equipment.
Scrub, gown, and glove in adherence to infection control protocols.
Assist the surgeon directly by passing instruments and supplies during procedures.
Maintain strict aseptic techniques to prevent surgical site infections.
Anticipate the surgeon's needs and ensure seamless flow of the surgery.
Perform surgical counts (sponges, instruments, sharps) before, during, and after the procedure.
Ensure the safe handling and proper disposal of bio-medical waste as per hospital protocols.
Assist with patient positioning, draping, and skin preparation.
Collaborate with circulating nurses and the surgical team for smooth workflow.
Monitor and manage surgical instruments and equipment before and after surgeries.
Report and document any adverse incidents or variances in care.
Assist in maintaining OT stock, checking sterility expiry, and requisitioning supplies.
