Job Description

he Supply Chain professional will be responsible for managing end-to-end supply chain activities including procurement, inventory control, logistics, vendor management, and production planning for the machine manufacturing unit. The role focuses on ensuring timely material availability, optimizing costs, and maintaining operational efficiency throughout the supply chain cycle.

Key Responsibilities:



Procurement & Vendor Management



Identify, evaluate, and develop reliable suppliers for raw materials, machine components, and consumables. Negotiate prices, payment terms, and delivery schedules to ensure cost-effective sourcing. Prepare and manage purchase orders (POs) and ensure timely follow-up with vendors. Maintain supplier performance data and ensure vendor compliance with quality and delivery standards.

Material Planning & Inventory Management



Plan and monitor material requirements based on production schedules and order forecasts. Optimize inventory levels to avoid stockouts and overstocking situations. Coordinate with stores and production teams for material issuance and reconciliation. Implement FIFO and other inventory management practices.

Production Planning & Coordination



Align procurement and logistics with production planning to ensure smooth workflow. Work closely with the production and maintenance teams to schedule material availability as per job requirements. Support New Product Development (NPD) by ensuring timely availability of prototypes and trial materials.

Logistics & Dispatch



Manage inbound and outbound logistics to ensure on-time material movement. Coordinate with transporters for freight optimization and timely deliveries. Monitor dispatch status, maintain records, and ensure correct documentation for shipments.

Cost Optimization & Process Improvement



Identify cost-saving opportunities through vendor consolidation, alternate sourcing, and process improvement. Implement best practices in SCM such as JIT, Lean, and ERP-based material planning. Support implementation and improvement of ERP modules related to SCM and inventory.

Required Skills & Competencies:



Strong knowledge of

procurement, logistics, and material management

in a manufacturing setup. Hands-on experience with

ERP systems (SAP / Tally / Oracle / FinERP)

. Understanding of

BOM (Bill of Materials)

and

machine part specifications

. Excellent negotiation, communication, and vendor relationship management skills. Analytical mindset with problem-solving and cost optimization abilities. Working knowledge of

import/export documentation

(if applicable).

Pay: ?400,000.00 - ?700,000.00 per year
