Develop and execute strategic supply chain plans to support machining and manufacturing processes, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives.
Procurement and vendor management:
Oversee the sourcing and purchasing of raw materials, tools, and machining parts.
Negotiate contracts with suppliers, including those specializing in machining services, to secure favorable terms on quality, cost, and delivery.
Monitor supplier performance based on KPIs and resolve any quality or delivery issues.
Inventory control:
Manage and optimize inventory levels for raw materials and finished goods to prevent stockouts or overstocking.
Implement and manage systems like Kanban to ensure the continuous availability of critical machining parts.
Logistics and distribution:
Organize and monitor the transportation and storage of raw materials and finished products.
Coordinate with freight forwarders, customs agents (CHA), and transportation companies for both domestic and international shipments.
Cross-functional collaboration:
Work closely with production, quality, and engineering departments to ensure materials and processes meet technical specifications like Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
Process improvement:
Analyze supply chain data to identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies.
Implement lean manufacturing and other continuous improvement methodologies to enhance supply chain performance.
Compliance:
Ensure that all supply chain activities comply with relevant regulations, safety standards, and company policies, especially regarding export-import (EXIM) procedures for India.
Team leadership:
Recruit, train, and manage a team of supply chain professionals.
