Overview:
As the School Infirmary Incharge/Nurse, you play a vital role in promoting the health and well-being of students, staff, and visitors within the school community. You provide medical care, administer first aid, and offer support to individuals in need of medical attention. Your responsibilities include managing the school infirmary, promoting health education initiatives, and collaborating with other school personnel to create a safe and healthy environment for all. Responsibilities:
  • Provide primary healthcare services to students, staff, and visitors, including administering first aid, managing minor injuries, and assessing medical emergencies.
  • Maintain and manage the school infirmary, ensuring it is clean, organized, and stocked with necessary medical supplies and equipment.
  • Assess and triage medical cases, determining the appropriate course of action for treatment or referral to external healthcare providers.
  • Keep accurate and confidential medical records for all individuals treated in the school infirmary, adhering to privacy regulations and school policies, both on paper and ERP.
  • Educate students, staff, and parents on health-related topics, including preventive measures, hygiene practices, and healthy lifestyle choices.
  • Collaborate with school administrators, teachers, and counselors to address health-related concerns and develop strategies for promoting student well-being.
  • Conduct health screenings and assessments to identify potential health issues or risks among students.
  • Develop and implement health promotion programs and initiatives, such as vaccination drives, health fairs, and wellness workshops.
  • Coordinate with external healthcare professionals, such as doctors, nurses, and specialists, to facilitate medical care and referrals as needed.
  • Stay updated on current medical practices, protocols, and regulations relevant to school health services.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor\'s degree in Nursing or a related field.
  • Prior experience in pediatric nursing, school nursing, or a similar healthcare setting preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology, healthcare procedures, and emergency response protocols.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact compassionately and effectively with students, parents, and staff.
  • Ability to remain calm and composed in high-pressure situations and make sound judgments regarding medical care.
  • Proficiency in basic medical procedures, such as wound care, medication administration, and CPR/first aid.
  • Familiarity with relevant healthcare laws, regulations, and confidentiality requirements.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in managing medical records and infirmary operations.
