Job Title - Dance Teacher

Role Overview

To educate, inspire, and guide students in developing their technical, artistic, and creative skills in various dance styles, fostering their physical fitness, coordination, and self-expression, and preparing them for performances, careers, and a lifelong appreciation of dance.

Key Responsibilities

Instruction:

Teach various dance techniques and styles to students, focusing on proper alignment, movement quality, and artistic expression.

Choreography:

Choreograph and direct dance performances for school events and concerts, encouraging students to develop their performance skills and stage presence.

Physical Fitness:

Help students improve their physical fitness, flexibility, and coordination, emphasizing proper warm-up and cool-down exercises.

Creative Expression:

Encourage students to express themselves through dance and provide opportunities for them to create their own choreography and dance pieces.

Assessment:

Assess student progress, provide constructive feedback, and help students set and achieve their dance-related goals.

Cultural Knowledge:

Teach students about the history, culture, and significance of different dance styles, promoting appreciation and respect for the art form.

Collaboration & Events:

Collaborate with other departments to integrate dance into school events and productions, and organize dance-related events such as concerts, workshops, and festivals.

Student Feedback:

80% positive feedback from students through structured feedback forms.

Parent's Feedback:

80% positive feedback from parents gathered via periodic surveys.

Syllabi Completion:

100% of the prescribed syllabus to be covered and documented in the syllabi format.

Improvement of All Students:

Each student should demonstrate at least a 10% improvement from the first to subsequent internal assessments.

Academic Performance:

At least 50% of students should score above 75% in internal exams and board assessments.

Skills

Expertise in multiple dance forms, choreography, student engagement, classroom management, creativity, leadership, and performance direction.

Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master's degree/diploma in Dance or Performing Arts. Experience teaching dance to school students preferred. Ability to teach both classical and contemporary dance forms.
