Profile: School Counselor-Education-Surat-45k
Experience: Minimum 2-4 years of relevant experience in school counseling or related student support role
Salary Range: 40k - 45k
Roles:
Provide individual and group counseling to students to support academic, social, emotional, and personal development.
Help students develop coping strategies for stress, peer relationships, behavior issues, and school-related challenges.
Promote mental health and wellbeing through classroom sessions, workshops, and awareness activities.
Collaborate with teachers and school leadership to identify students needing support and develop appropriate interventions.
Communicate with parents/guardians regarding student progress, concerns, and intervention plans.
Assist students with academic planning, goal setting, and future educational pathways where relevant.
Maintain accurate confidential records of counseling sessions and student progress.
Participate in school events, parent-teacher meetings, and student support team meetings to integrate counseling into broader school activities.
Qualification:
Master's in Psychology / Counselling / Social Work (preferred) or relevant qualification in Child Development / Educational Psychology.
Diploma or certification in Counselling will be an added advantage.
Strong understanding of adolescent development, mental health, and counselling techniques.
Proficient in English; Hindi/Gujarati helpful.
