SBM (Swachh Bharat Mission) Professional / Project Coordinator
to lead, manage, and monitor project activities under solid waste management, sanitation, and urban development programs. The ideal candidate must have strong field management skills, government coordination experience, and the ability to deliver project outcomes within timelines.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate and implement project activities under
Swachh Bharat Mission (Urban/Rural)
.
Manage and supervise on-ground teams, field staff, consultants, and stakeholders.
Develop project plans, field strategies, timelines, and progress monitoring mechanisms.
Conduct baseline surveys, assessments, door-to-door campaigns, IEC activities, and awareness programs.
Liaise with government departments: ULBs, District Administration, State Mission Directorate, and other agencies.
Ensure proper documentation, reporting, and submission of MIS, progress reports, and compliance documents.
Monitor solid waste management operations (segregation, collection, processing, MRFs, dumpsite management).
Conduct capacity-building programs and training sessions for field teams and ULB staff.
Identify challenges in project implementation and propose corrective actions.
Ensure adherence to project guidelines, quality standards, and timelines.
Coordinate vendor activities and support procurement and administrative tasks.
Required Qualifications & Skills
Bachelor's or Master's in
Environmental Science / Environmental Engineering / Civil Engineering / Urban Planning / Social Work / Rural Development / Public Administration
or related fields.
5-10 years of experience
in SBM, Solid Waste Management, or Urban Development projects.
Strong knowledge of SBM guidelines, SWM Rules 2016, and ULB functioning.
Excellent project coordination and team management skills.
Strong communication, reporting, and documentation abilities.
Ability to conduct field visits, inspections, community engagement, and monitoring.
Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), MIS reporting, and data analysis.
Ability to work with government officials and multiple stakeholders.
Preferred Skills
Experience in working with
State Mission Directorate / ULBs / government-funded projects
.
Experience in IEC/behavior change communication (BCC) activities.
Knowledge of local issues related to waste management in Assam.
Proficiency in Assamese language (preferred).
