You will join the team responsible for the end-to-end technical definition, verification, and delivery of the company's SAR satellites and the broader constellation architecture. As a Junior Systems Engineer, you will work under senior leads supporting spacecraft system design, analysis, integration, testing, and operations.
This role is ideal for early-career engineers with exposure to satellite design competitions, UAV/autonomous systems, aerospace/automotive startup engineering, or student-led mission teams.
Responsibilities:
System Engineering Fundamentals
Support requirements development, flow-down, and traceability for spacecraft bus and mission systems.
Assist in trade studies across subsystems (power, thermal, ADCS, comms, propulsion, structures).
Contribute to constellation-level modelling: coverage, revisit, power budgets, SAR duty-cycle impacts, link analysis.
Participate in CONOPS development, mission timelines, and operational scenarios.
Modelling, Simulation & Analysis
Assist with modelling using STK, GMAT, Orekit, MATLAB, Python, or equivalent.
Run simulations for: orbit propagation, power/thermal profiles, pointing requirements for SAR, satellite data budgets.
Integration, Test & Launch Preparation
Support environmental test planning (vibe, TVAC, EMI/EMC).
Assist in creating ICDs, test procedures, and verification matrices.
Participate in factory tests, pre-shipment checks, and launch campaign preparation.
Documentation & Processes
Maintain system requirements, ICDs, change logs, risks, and configuration documentation.
Present updates, analyses, and test results in internal engineering reviews.
Minimum Qualifications:
0-2 years experience, strong fundamentals, curiosity, and discipline:
BE/BTech in Aerospace Engineering (mandatory).
0-2 years full-time experience, OR student project leadership in:
CubeSat/CanSat teams,
UAV/autonomous systems,
Formula Student/Hyperloop,
aerospace robotics/space tech labs.
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication
Knowledge & Skills:
Basic understanding of:
orbital mechanics & LEO operations,
key spacecraft subsystems,
systems engineering concepts (requirements V-model, V&V, review cycles).
Strong technical communication and documentation skills.
Familiarity with Python or MATLAB.
Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have, Not Required):
Space mission modelling tools (STK, GMAT, Orekit).
Exposure to SAR concepts, RF systems, or payload-bus integration.
Exposure to ECSS/NASA systems engineering processes.
Exposure to hardware testing, HIL testing, or satellite flatsats.
Knowledge of RF basics and T&C link behavior.
Experience with JIRA, Git, or similar tools.
Soft Skills & Attitude:
Fast learner with a willingness to understand multiple subsystems.
Ownership mindset--comfortable with ambiguity and responsibility.
Ability to work occasional off-hours during critical mission phases (AIT, launch, LEOP, anomalies).
Why Join Us?
Work on India's next-generation commercial SAR constellation.
Full-spectrum systems engineering exposure from day one.
Mentorship from senior spacecraft & SAR mission experts.
