JOB PURPOSE



The WM System Process Manager is a specialized role responsible for overseeing and optimizing SAPWM (Warehouse Management), SAP EWM (Extended Warehouse Management), external WM systems for AGV (Automated Guided Vehicles), High-rack storage systems, MES (Manufacturing Execution System)WM components, and related non-SAP warehouse management processes to drive efficiency, quality, and operational excellence within warehouse and logistics operations. This position shall especially close the gap to perform all projects in SAP EWM and external WM systems for AGV/High-rack automation. This role requires a combination of SAP WM/EWM technical expertise, warehouse automation knowledge, analytical skills, project management capabilities, and leadership qualities to identify process improvement opportunities in warehouse management environments, implement best practices, and drive sustainable change. The WM System Process Manager collaborates with cross-functional teams including logistics, warehouse operations, supply chain, and business process management to streamline warehouse workflows, optimize automated storage and retrieval systems, reduce waste, and enhance productivity across distribution facilities.

CORE JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES



#1 Core Job Duty/ Responsibility:

WM System Process Optimization: Lead efforts to identify, analyze, and improve SAP WM (Warehouse Management), SAP EWM (Extended Warehouse Management), external WM systems for AGV/High-rack automation, and MES WM business processes and related warehouse management applications across the organization. Utilize process mapping, data analysis, and logistics performance metrics to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies and opportunities for improvement in goods receipt, put-away, picking, packing, shipping, inventory management, automated storage systems, and warehouse execution processes.

Continuous Improvement for Warehouse Management &Automation: Establish and champion a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and operational excellence for SAP WM, SAP EWM, AGV systems, High-rack automation, and MES WM system processes within all warehouse management applications needed to support logistics operations. Implement Lean,

Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies specifically focused on warehouse efficiency, automation optimization, and inventory accuracy across both SAP and external automation platforms.

Warehouse Management & Automation Project Management: Plan, execute, and monitor SAP WM, SAP EWM, AGV/High-rack automation, and MES WM process improvement projects from inception to completion. Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables for warehouse management system implementations, warehouse automation projects, and MES integrations, and manage project timelines, resources, and budgets effectively across multiple distribution facilities.

Change Management for Warehouse Management & Automation: Lead change management initiatives to facilitate the adoption of new WM processes, SAP EWM functionalities, AGV systems, and warehouse automation methodologies. Engage warehouse and logistics stakeholders, communicate effectively with distribution personnel, and address resistance to change to drive successful implementation and adoption of automated systems.

Warehouse Management & Automation Performance Monitoring: Develop and implement key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to track SAP WM, SAP EWM, AGV/High-rack systems, and MES WM process performance, warehouse throughput, inventory accuracy, automation efficiency, and logistics effectiveness. Generate regular reports and dashboards to communicate progress and outcomes to warehouse and logistics leadership, including integration metrics between SAP WM/EWM and external automation systems.

Training and Development for WM Systems & Automation: Provide training, coaching, and support to warehouse personnel, logistics coordinators, and distribution staff on SAP WM, SAP EWM, AGV systems, High-rack automation, and MES WM process improvement methodologies, system functionalities, and warehouse management best practices. Build internal capabilities and empower warehouse and automation teams to drive continuous improvement across all platforms.

Project management of SAP WM, SAP EWM, AGV/High-rack automation systems, and MES WM system implementations together with Warehouse/Distribution Teams as well as Definition, harmonization &implementation of necessary warehouse management and automation processes together with Business Process Management and Application Development. Managing complex integration between SAPWM/EWM modules, external automation systems (AGV, High rack), MES warehouse components, and warehouse execution systems while maintaining distribution continuity and automated system availability. Bridging the gap between traditional warehouse management and advanced automation technologies.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS



Education Level:

Master's degree or equivalent level

Education Field:

Engineering and engineering trades (Industrial Engineering, Logistics Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or related field preferred)

Other Education & Experience:



3-5 years experience in SAP WM (Warehouse Management), SAP EWM (Extended Warehouse Management), warehouse automation systems, and MES environments with proven track record of process improvement in logistics and warehouse operations

Strong knowledge of SAP WM modules including Goods Receipt, Put-away, Picking, Packing, Shipping, Inventory Management, and WM integration with MM/SD modules

Advanced knowledge of SAP EWM modules including Warehouse Structure, Resource Management, Warehouse Processes, Labor Management, and EWM integration with transportation systems

Experience with warehouse automation systems including: AGV (Automated Guided Vehicles), High-rack storage systems, conveyor systems, and automated picking technologies

Understanding of SAP WM/EWM to external automation systems integration points and data flow optimization

Experience with MES WM components including warehouse execution, real-time inventory tracking, and automated material handling

Analytical Skills:



Strong analytical and problem-solving skills specific to warehouse management and automation challenges

Ability to analyze complex logistics data, warehouse throughput, inventory flows, and automation performance
